Americans do not believe that humans evolved, and the vast majority says that even if they evolved, God guided the process. Just 13 percent say that God was not involved. But most would not substitute the teaching of creationism for the teaching of evolution in public schools.

Support for evolution is more heavily concentrated among those with more education and among those who attend religious services rarely or not at all.

There are also differences between voters who supported Kerry and those who supported Bush: 47 percent of John Kerry’s voters think God created humans as they are now, compared with 67 percent of Bush voters.

Overall, about two-thirds of Americans want creationism taught along with evolution. Only 37 percent want evolutionism replaced outright.

More than half of Kerry voters want creationism taught alongside evolution. Bush voters are much more willing to want creationism to replace evolution altogether in a curriculum (just under half favor that), and 71 percent want it at least included.

@Coltrane

I am curious where you got this article from

Frantz Fanon
We are nothing on earth if we are not, first of all, slaves of the cause of the people, the cause of justice, the cause of liberty.

Cant see how it matters really.

Doesnt affect your day to day life, whether the earth goes around the sun or the sun around the earth, or we were designed or not... doesnt affect the price of tea in china.

I suppose I would be concerned if I went to the doctor with a bad problem and he told me to pray though but otherwiseconfused3

LMAO I was actually paraphrasing the character Sherlock Holmes. Dr Watson was horrified that he didnt know that the world was orbiting the sun and not vice versa and even more shocked when Mr Holmes said he would try his best to forget it. Holmes asked him in what possible way can it affect my life either way and the work Im involved in??? Watson was stumped !!

Though I like your literal description

Yes I know, I has noticed. I cant remember which particular story it was (there were about 50) but I remember some passages and things I came across which made me stop and think ehh??

Some of it was his obsession with phrenology lol and stuff like that. The descriptions of non white people were revealing too. The broad European sharp features protruding craniums that housed bigger brains or some such nonsense...

Enjoyed them as a kid though.

This gets me thinking about a lot of the old books I read that were like that. I used to love the story of White Fang by Jack London as a kid. Rereading it when older I noticed how the wolf recognised that white people were greater gods than the Indians in Canada.
