this is on now the show goes to israel palestine and england shows holy lands temples etc

it started off by looking at the 1st 4 books of the bible (which also make up the torah)and beckford comes to the conclusion that its not about so much the author of the books but who updated and edited these books and for what reason. religious political etc.

he mentions the giving element of christianity and shows ruach church, showing that giving is notjust financial and collection plate but giving of your time and resources for Gods will

he speaks now of the Israel population and the new citizens there. he points out soldiers praying at the temple wall with guns and explaisn that this would never happen in a church. 516bc is where the final re-write/edit of biblical texts take place. jews are said to be in israel.

looks at book of isiah who speaks of the messiah and the garden of eden being restored. the bible he says becomes a book for all nations and not just the jews which he compares to dr martin luther kings teachings

he goes onto the dead sea scrolls, the temple scrolls which are not part of the bible.the show says that the dead sea scrolls were froma jewish cult

100bc the jews decided that the torah was the truth

he speaks of the story of the exodus and shows christian palestinnians who state and express that God said His people wil be liberated and not just the Jews but all of Gods people. he goes to a palestinian church were the bible is read in arabic. so it seems that whilst one group see israel divine right they maybe forgetting that israel is all of Gods people divine right as christians and jews believe in the same God.

the new testament - he ask is the gospel absolute gospel truth and he goes looking for who wrote it. he goes to the holy lands. he mentions bush and his faith.

he looks at Jesus' last steps to his death, where he carried his cross through the streets. it looks at the holy sepulcre and Jesus tomb which he visits. beckford says that it is emotional place to be and is moved to tears.

he goes on to asses the new testament. the gospels book of revelations. but the gospels are is main focus as the gospels are about Jesus time on earth. he mentions Paul who wrote some books, books of acts where paul changed from persecutor to believer in the faith spreading the good news.

paul goes to a pagan city to convert people and spread the news. paul's books were written in greek and they stem from letters to churches. some books were done by a scribe but with pauls input, he moved on to rome the seat of power. he is put in prison and persecuted for his faith. 60ad rome paul was executed.

each four gospels speak of Jesus but from different angles. he goes to a church in rome where christians had to bury their dead in secret due to the persecution.

etc etc etc

all in all it was good docu ... it didnt descredit the bible but showed what people were going through those times and how the bible should be read and where confusion comes into it

It does make u question the origin of the bible, don't u think? The guy made an excellent program by the way. That guy who was Bush's spiritual adviser was wearing a gold rolex I think. The guy was a radical.
I think you have over condensed your run down.

@ladyday

Hm, It wasn't too different to the BBC's "Bible Mysteries" but without the re-constructions

To be honest, there wasn't really anything new in the programme....
It was odd how he seemed to be making the documantary more sort of sexed up by shoe-horning references to Tupac Shakur in there. I note that he didn't push the 'but its not really all true' argument with the**** hard ex-con who'd converted to Christianity.
It felt like there was a huge part of it unsaid though. Islam also reveres Jesus as a prophet, and contains more references to the Virgin Mary (Mariam) and her story than much of the New Testament.
So, if the Old and New Testament is historically dodgy, then by definition books sacred to Islam have been called into question... but he opted not to make too much of that

he should have done more than that

no wonder I was watching LITTLE BRITAIN

There wasn't anything new in the program for you. (Is this a criticism of the program?)
Christianity came before Islam (this isn't new to you) and is likely the basis for Islam. We are also in the middle of christmas. You can see why it is relevant at this time of year.
Are you saying he f'ed up the program? Isn't that what sexed up means?? I'm take the meaning literally.
Like the guy said in his program, you should always ask why.

well maybe if the bible wasnt so historically dodgy and altered by scholars, king james and the like, and left with countless discrepancies, errors and contradictions, then it might not have been called into question either.

Instead of wondering why the Qur'an wasnt questioned, which is because it has not these problems, you should instead be researching the bible to find if what was said is true or untrue, and then you can refute all claims made if untrue, or know where you stand with the bible as the foundation of your faith if the claims are true.

oh please...stop... with your nonsense. only you and some muslim fanatics think the koran has no errors. from where did this person who wrote it get the stories from. they borrowed and adopted stories from the Jewish Torah and the Bible(the most popular book in the world.

(ladyday)"oh please...stop... with your nonsense. only you and some muslim fanatics think the koran has no errors"

lol...

So why do christians not question the bible as they question the Quran?

(ladyday) "the Bible the most popular book in the world"

is that a fact, opinion, or a guess?

Is the Bible Gods Word? by Ahmad Deedat.
