The Nation of Islam released the following statement regarding the recent earthquake and tsunami disaster:

Statement from the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan
to the survivors of the recent earthquake and tsunami disaster

(NOI.org) - On behalf of all of the members of the Nation of Islam, and I believe I speak for all of our people and people of good will, we send our deep sympathy and condolences to those families who have lost their loved ones in this terrible earthquake and the great loss of property, leaving thousands and thousands of people homeless.

Unfortunately, these are the things that were prophesied to come as a sign of the end of this system of things. Jesus said there will be wars and rumors of wars, and nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom; there shall be earthquakes in diverse places, pestilence and famine; and these are the beginning of sorrows. Unfortunately, the worst is yet to come.

Let all of us who remain be prayerful and mindful that our righteousness will sustain us in such a time as this.

Minister Louis Farrakhan,
The National Representative of
the Honorable Elijah Muhammad
