i think many many people, dont know the true diffrence between religion and spirituality! by going toa church, temple, mosque DO NOT MAKE any person,a spiritual person, sometimes, churchs become likea social club for people, also african spirituality was banned in many countries and seen as evil, such as candomble banned in brazil,by the catholic church.

many people across the oceans have adopted the religion of their masters and colonizers, christianity by european/roman settlers, protestantism by the british empire( thats the reason why sooo many carribean are protestants) islam by arabs.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. I DONT SEE WHY BLACK PEOPLE ARE SO PROUD TO TAKE ON THE RELIGION AND TRADITIONS OF THEIR COLONISERS. IT BAFFLES ME COMPLETELY, AND THEN THEY WANT TO ACT LIKE YOU ARE THE ONE OUT OF WACK FOR CHALLENGING IT. I PERSONALLY DO NOT BELIVE IN RELIGION AS IN MY OPINION IT IS A MAN MADE INSTITUTION CREATED FOR SOCIAL ORDE. IT HAS ITS PLUSES BUT NOT FOR ME.

It's quite simple. Religious people memorize heaps of text. Spiritual people actually think.

Ah! Just the topic that I could post something important to.

Have you guys ever looked up words and their latin roots?
I used webster.com and looked up religion.
A root word of religion is the latin religio which means supernatural constraint.
The supreme God (you didn't think his name was only "GOD" did you?) is indeed a supernatural being or entity. So organized religion period is a means of keeping people away from true spirituality. Religion is man's way of doctrine, rituals, unltimately control over you to do as they wish. The supreme God's way is the spiritual way.

Still don't believe me? Check this out:
I'm not religious, but I know of interesting verses inside the bible.
Matthew 7:13-17

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

*Verse 16, fruits is really described as 'works'

The wide/broad gate leads to destruction, which are the world religions. Truth isn't offered so easily, so each one of you have to search for it, which is the narrow gate to life that few people find or have a desire to find.
