According to "The Almanac Book of Facts", the population increased 137% within the past decade, Christianity increased 46%, while Islam increased 235%. In a recent poll in the (US), 100,000 people per year in America alone, are converting to Islam.

"A small scale survey by the Islamic Foundation in Leicester suggests that most converts are aged 30 to 50. Younger muslims point to many conversions among students and highlight the intellectual thrust of Islam. "Muhammad" said, "The light of Islam will rise in the West" and I think that is what is happening in our day" says Aliya Haeri, an American-born psychologist who converted 15 years ago. She is a consultant to the Zahra Trust, a charity publishing spiritual literature and is one of Britain's prominent Islamic speakers. She adds: "Western converts are coming to Islam with fresh eyes, without all the habits of the East, avoiding much of what is culturally wrong. The purest tradition is finding itself strongest in the West."

"Some say the conversions are prompted by the rise of comparative religious education. The British media, offering what Muslims describe as a relentless bad press on all things Islamic, is also said to have helped. Westerners despairing of their own society - rising in crime, family breakdown, drugs and alcoholism - have come to admire the discipline and security of Islam. Many converts are former Christians disillusioned by the uncertainty of the church and unhappy with the concept of the Trinity and deification of Jesus.

Many converts from Christianity reject the ecclesiastical heirarchy emphasising Muslims' direct relationship with God. They sense a lack of leadership in the Church of England and are suspicious of its apparent flexibility. "Muslims don't keep shifting their goal-posts ," says Huda Khattab, 28, author of The Muslim Woman's Handbook, published this year by Ta-Ha. She converted ten years ago while studying Arabic at university. "Christianity changes, like the way some have said pre-marital se is okay if its with the person you're going to marry. It seems so wishy-washy. Islam was constant about sex, about praying five times a day. The prayer makes you conscious of God all the time. You're continually touching base."

Islam has been the most popular religion in the word from the very beginning. Non Muslims often argue that Islam was spread with the use of sword. It is true that the Muslims used sword but only to remove the obstacle in way of peace and justice, and not for conversion into Islam. No one was ever permitted to use force for the spread of Islam nor the Muslims ever did so. Islam is spreading fast in Europe and America, meanwhile churches remain empty and Christian Worshipers’ presence is next to nil, therefore, these churches are either being sold or converted into shopping centers. Muslims are a big minority in the U.S. and Britain and by 2020; Islam would become the major religion in Britain, Insha Allah. And this all is happening when the West is dominant in political and economic fields and the Muslims are weak and victim of oppression. Today they don’t have political or military power nor do they have economic strength. Despite all this, Islam is gaining popularity in Europe and America. The infidels had perhaps thought that after 9/11 no one would dare to preach Islam nor would anyone convert to the faith. But they have been mistaken. And all of their plans have ended in smoke. The Kafirs have failed miserably. Says Allah in the Quran: ‘The Kafirs made their plan and Allah planned in His own way but Allah is the best planner of all’ (Al-Quran).

Islam which is the message of peace and justice, has the inherent quality of gaining popularity when oppressed. After 9/11 the interest of Non Muslims' in America and Europe has increased so much that sales of books on Islam and copies of Al-Quran has increased after 9/11. The number of new Muslim converts in Britain is 30,000, thirty per cent of which belong to well to do and high families. 70% are the women new Muslim converts whose ratio is double the men, whereas this ratio is 1:4 in America. According to BBC, the world is taking so much interest in ISLAM that Islamic pieces of Art are exhibited in important museums of the world. Fifteen thousand people visited this exhibition in London. On the other hand, the Europeans are so much dissatisfied and disappointed with their cultural values, national mottos and religion that they’re selling their churches. Many churches have been transformed into Shopping Centers, Dancing Halls and Mosques, due to lack of interest in Christianity. Many Churches are deserted, therefore the process of changing churches into mosques continues.

As per recent report in Sunday Times, there are 2.3 million Muslims in Great Britain, both working class people and people from high families. Yahia Burt who is strategic advisor to Prime Minister Tony Blair and son of former Director General of BBC embraced Islam. After Second World War, grand-daughter of the former Prime Minister Herbert Asquith, EMMA CLARK embraced Islam. Among the important newly convert Muslims are the sons and daughter of Lord Justice George Scott who held inquiry into Iraqi weapons case. Mr. Ahmed Dobbson, son of former minister, Mr. Frank Dobbson also embraced Islam who was later on made the President of Muslim council of Britain. Important personalities like Lord of Yarborough has taken the Islamic name of Abdel Matteen. Yousaf Islam (Cat`Stevens) and Omer Freddi and other fourteen thousand newly convert Muslims are playing an important role for spreading Islam. There had also been rumours that Lady Diana had embraced Islam. Charles le Gai Eaton's book titled ‘ISLAM AND THE DESTINY OF MAN’ says; "people are fed up with the Weaker and Lustful Standards of Christianity and they are in search of a religion which has a simple philosophy, rational approach to life along with spiritual enlightenment."

Muslim community in Britain: Historically, the Muslim community has had a long presence in the UK. Official reports of early Muslim settlements in many British ports dating from 300 hundred years ago. However, a more widespread presence did not occur until the late 20th century. The biggest influx of Muslims arrived in the 1950s for economic migration. The early Muslims were predominantly of south Asian origin and came mainly from rural areas in Pakistan, eastern Bangladesh, and the Gujarat district of India. They settled in the North of Britain, working in the steel and textile industries. In the 1970s Muslims of Middle East, and East and North African origin joined them. A substantial number of Muslims also arrived from Turkish Cyprus, Malaysia and Iran. In recent years there has been further influx of Muslims comprising the displaced peoples of Somalia, Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan. There are also about 5000 converts to Islam in Britain, of whom about half are of Afro Caribbean origin. These processes of mobilization and migration have resulted in a considerable Muslim presence in the UK. Available statistics estimate around 1.6 million Muslims in Britain, with over half the population living in or around London. According to the Census reports (released in February 2003). Muslims constitute the second largest religious group in Britain, after Christians.

The Call To Islam In The United Kingdom

The UK is different from other European countries because of its more liberal policies with regards to religious activities. This is the reason that there are several active Islaamic organizations operating in Britain today. Also, Islam is flourishing and spreading rapidly in Britain, where three persons per day embrace Islam. The total number of Muslims in Britain increased to between 1.5 and 2 million, including more than 250,000, who converted to Islam from other religions. Seventy percent of these new Muslims are females, many of whom are now married to Muslims who came from various parts of the world. These new female Muslims are very active in Da'wah (inviting people to Islam) and in defending Islam against false claims that Islam against false claims that Islam does not protect the rights of women and does not give them their share of respect and rights.

The call to the Qur'an and Sunnah is very strong in Britain, all thanks are to Allah. There are several organizations that follow this line. Some of these organizations mainly operate within the Pakistani community and publish various magazines, newsletters and pamphlets. Other organizations are active among English speakers and they do attract a large audience. Some of them concentrate on conducting various activities among the non-Muslims communities and in colleges and universities to spread the call of Islaam amongst them. And some are active in translating books with authentic information into the English language.

It is a bounty from Allah that the Muslim organizations in Britain are not facing any direct obstacles erected by the government, as of yet. However, there is always some type of obstacles that the government indirectly erects trying, as it has been the habit and intent of the British government, to destroy Islam anywhere it exists. Hatred and despise of Islaam is very apparent in the policies and practices that the government takes, such as the British position with regards to Bosnia. Also, the government has given state protection to some figures who are anti-Islamic, such as Salman Rushdi, whom the government is protecting in the pretext that it wants to preserve the right of free speech. Ironically, at the same time, the government intervenes whenever a book is published about the Jews or a book that criticizes the policies of Margaret Thatcher, the former Prime Minister. Free speech applies only in areas that benefit the government, otherwise, there is no free speech.

There are non-Islaamic institutions that are specialized in "Eastern Studies," which are mainly concerned with distorting Islam and training people on how to attack Islaamic ideas and laws. All this is happening at a time when the Church is spending millions of Pounds to lure people back to the church, a policy that is being sponsored by forty parliament members, the same members ho have been claming that Muslim mosques are increasingly becoming centers for violence and trouble around the country. All these actions by the government reveal the degree of hatred that their hearts conceal is even greater.

Despite all these practices and the war against Islam that is being propagated in the media, Islam is steadily spreading every day, all thanks are to Allah. And although some Muslims doubt that Islam will be successful in the West, it is still spreading. It is the unique characteristic of this religion that whenever it is challenged, its power and hold over the hearts of the believers increase. Allah has promised that before the end of time, Islam will enter every house on the face of the earth. Allah always speaks the perfect truth.

Since Britain is a democracy and an officially secular state, Muslims have been allowed to form political parties. As a result, there is one Islamic party that has been formed and is active in some areas. However, this party does not represent correct Islamic belief. It is active among those who are not firm in their Islam and those who implement Islam during marriage ceremonies only.

Muslims are larger in number that the Jews in Britain. Yet, they do not have any representatives in the parliament. On the contrary, the Jews have several members in the parliament and in the government. If Muslims are more successful in organizing their efforts, they will be able to have more say in their affairs and in the parliament, as some Muslims prefer. However, such a move, if fulfilled, must be in accordance with the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah and through the correct way of understanding and implementing the religion.

"Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth has been made clear from error. Whoever rejects false worship and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that never breaks. And Allah hears and knows all things."

These verses from the Holy Koran clearly state that no one can be compelled to accept Islam. It is the duty of Muslims to establish the proof of Islam to the people so that truth can be made clear from falsehood. After that, whoever wishes to accept Islam may do so and whoever wishes to continue upon unbelief may do so. No one should be threatened or harmed in any way if he does not wish to accept Islam.

Some people might be wondering that if Islam indeed advocates such an approach, then what is all this we hear about jihad? How can we explain the warfare that the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions waged against the pagans?

The answer to this is that jihad in Islamic Law can be waged for a number of reasons, but compelling people to accept Islam is simply not one of them.

I think one of the most interesting things is that both Christianity and Islam are technically rooted in Judaism. Research it and see what I mean.

The first thing that one should know and clearly understand about Islam is what the word "Islam" itself means. The Arabic word "Islam" means the submission or surrender of one's will to the only true God, known in Arabic as "Allah". One who submits his will to God is termed in Arabic a "Muslim". The religion of Islam is not named after a person or people, nor was it decided by a later generation of man, as in the case of Christianity which was named after Jesus Christ (p), Buddhism after Gautama Buddha, Confucianism after Confucius, Marxism after Karl Marx, Judaism after the tribe of Judah, and Hinduism after the Hindus. Islam (submission to the will of God) is the religion which was given to Adam (p), the first man and the first prophet of God, and it was the religion of all the prophets sent by Allah to mankind. Further, its name was chosen by God Himself and clearly mentioned in the final scripture which He revealed to man. In the final revelation, called the Qur'an in Arabic, Allah states the following:

"This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and I have chosen for you Islam as you religion." (Qur'an 5:3)

"If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to God), never will it be accepted of him." (Qur'an 3:85)

Hence, Islam does not claim to be a new religion brought by Prophet Muhammad (p) into Arabia in the seventh century, but rather to be a re-expression in its final form of the true religion of Almighty God, Allah, as it was originally revealed to Adam (p) and subsequent prophets.

At this point we might comment briefly on two other religions that claim to be the true path. Nowhere in the Bible will you find God revealing to Prophet Moses' (p) people or their descendants that their religion is called Judaism, or to the followers of Christ (p) that their religion is called Christianity. In other words, the names "Judaism" and "Christianity" had no divine origin or approval.

I need some advice.

I am a christian women who is fed up by the religion, thinks it may befalse, belives the bible is a collection of random storiesand lies and half truths, i also think thatthere is plagirism in it.and is slowly starting to belive after doing research that actually allah may just be the true route to god and mohammed is his messenger.
