At the time of the Prophet, most of the Christians didn't believe in the trinity or hold Jesus and the Holy Spirit as "gods"...so Christians weren't consided polytheists but actually monotheist who believed in the One God.
Since this concept of the trinity, I don't know.

I am a Christian but I don't believe in the Trinity and never have. Not all Christians believe in this doctrine.

Aliya don't be condescending. No I am not a Muslim "my dear" I am a Unitarian Christian, who does not believe in the doctrines that were made up at the Nicene Creed and then cemented with the Athansius Creed (due to politics) to declare that Christ is part of a Godhead (It makes no mention in the Bible of a Trinity or Godhead). However, I do believe Jesus Christ was God's first creation, was sent to be our saviour, died on the cross and was resurrected (which makes me a Christian). Also to be a Muslim you also have to believe that Mohammad was the last prophet which I don't.
Also, this thread isn't about that, it is about inter-faith relationships and if I am stating that I am in one, then I obviously see a difference between my faith and Islam.
It's very ironic that in threads you talk about peoples self holiness yet you think you can come on here and tell people what their beliefs are and what their religion is according to yourself.

@Thestudent
Bro, what I meant was believing in god is not the same as believing in Allah(sw), THE ONE true god. Christians might believe in a god, but they don't necessarily believe in Allah. Now how is that ok?>..

im not talking about these tritarian christians who deal in SHIRK.
im talking about true belivers in One God. it really dosent matter if you call Him Allah or not, as long as the understanding is there.

The fundamental difference is that Yes I do believe in the resurrection of Jesus but no I don't believe Christ is God, that is because I DO truly believe in the Bible and it makes absolutely no mention of that. Generally the Trinitarian teaching is that in the "Godhead" there are three persons, Father, Son and Holy Ghost; yet, together they are but one God.confused3:? The doctrine says that the three are coequal, almighty and uncreated, having existed eternally in the Godhead.blknoway However in the Bible it never states this. My belief is that the Almighty God stands alone as a separate, eternal, and all-powerful being. Jesus was created by God, and that the Holy Ghost is not a person, but God's spirit his "active force".

I believe in God as one (Jesus His son, not His equal), but it would make little sense me marrying a Muslim trying to convince myself the only difference was he called God Allah.

I don't think that inter-faith relationships work because of personal experiences with it. I once dated a strict Christian guy that was VERY forceful about his beliefs. He spent most ofhis time knowing me trying to convert me, no matter how much I insisted that I was once Christian andI know what is about and I'm not interested, He insisted on being forceful, telling me I was going to "hell" and he really wanted to marry me but he can'tif I'm notChristianand a bunch of bull. Long story short, I kicked him to the curb and found a very openly spiritual guy, that has similar beliefs as me.

ola,
you have a very shortsighted view.
i am talking about MEANING.
the arabic word for ROSE is ZAIRA - it is a different word but its MEANING is the same.
the fact is ola, any one who believes in the trinty is a POLYTHEIST at heart, even though you obviously dont think so.
look - does it not make sense to you that as there is ONE God there can only be ONE faith and ONE way to worship God
as a MUSLIM i study and appreciate the WHOLE universe, not just one MAN
YaHuWaH Eloh(im) - HuwaAllah - He is Allah
