I received this e-mail sometime ago, and thought would share it withyou guys. It is not really a chain letter so don't worry,I aint using trickery to try and get it in circulation, jst something to think about. I apologize in advance if it is in anyway offecive to you, but it was not meanty to be that way. Please do not be put off by the length, and I hope you do enjoy/ponder upon it. .~Bless~ XxX
Ask yourself the question of "would you run" after you read this!!!
Would you run?
Imagine this happening to you...
One Sunday morning during service, a 2,000 member congregation was surprised to see two men enter, both covered from head to toe in black
and carrying submachine guns.
One of the men proclaimed, "Anyone willing to take a bullet for Christ remain where you are."
Immediately, the choir fled...
the deacons fled...
and most of the congregation fled....
Out of the 2,000 there only remained around 20!!
The man who had spoken took off his hood...
He then looked at the preacher and said "Okay Pastor, I got rid of all the hypocrites... Now you may begin your service. Have a nice day!"
And the two men turned and walked out.
TOO DEEP TO NOT PASS ON... !
*Funny how simple it is for people to trash God ...
and then wonder why the world is in the condition it is today....
*Funny how we believe what the newspapers say...
but question what the Bible says...
*Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven...
provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Bible says.
or is it scary?
*Funny how someone can say "I believe in God"...
but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also "believes"in God).
*Funny ! how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they
spread like wildfire...
but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, you think twice about sharing.
*Funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyberspace...
but the public discussion of Jesus is suppressed in the school and work place.
*Funny, isn't it? Funny how someone can be so fired up for Christ on Sunday...
but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week.
Are you laughing?
*Funny how when you go to forward this message...
you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they ! believe...or what they will think of you for sending it to them.
*Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me...
... than what God thinks of me.
Are you thinking?
Will you share this with people you care about?
Or not?
I picked you~
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
May the Lord make His face to shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
May the Lord ! lift up His favour upon you
And give you His peace.
Amen!

@Mizz understood. All these allegorical teachings are fundamentally flawed even though I take the point.
Would I run? Fast like Ben Johnson....blktrainers
Issues of faith cannot be seperated from issues of intelligence and judgement. Would I leave my woman or children or a good female friend in order to run, then no. Never if I can help it. As different and more or greater considerations than myself are involved. Running or not running can never be the issue. The issue is what is at stake against a higher set of considerations.
God did not create fool or give us this powerful organ call a brain if that was the case

The obvious flaw to me is the assumption that everyone who sits in a church is a fully fledged born again christian.Â* There are a significant number of 'visitors' who have attended church as part of their 'journey' or because they are curious or almost 'there' in terms of being committed.Â*I have to agree with FB, I don't recall anywhere in the Word saying we had to die for Christ, we are asked to die to self (Ego).Â* Dieing for others was the preserved for Chirst and even he didn't want to take the 'bullet' at his chosen time when he asked for the cup to pass by him in the garden of Gethsemany..Â*Â*Quite frankly, 'Would You Run' seems nonsensical and smacks of the kind of message that was given to those who were massacred in Guyana (what was the name of the guy again, Baker?) and other such cult leaders who insist on commitment to the point of death e.g. Waco ring a bell?In terms of the tone of the message, I don't support the use of condemnation and guilt tripping to coerce people.Â* That's how it reads to me and those are some of the reasons I wouldn't forward it and would challenge anyone who would send it to me.PeaceFemergy

@Femergy. I think you were refering to Jimmy Jones in Guyana.
Since when has absolute commitment of that type been a condition for any belief system and if it was I would run from it. Similar to political idelogy. Some will be absolutely devoted and put down their lives for joke, but that is not the same thing as saying it is a basic precondition. Quite scary the implications of that kind of thinking becuase it requires an abodment of free will and thking. I give up my life because I choose to do so not because it is a precondition of club membership.

Firstly I'd like to say hello to Fredblack , It's been quite sometime since i've been on this site , It's been since (Kareem) If my memory serves me correctly.I went home for a bit (Guyana) .I Simply had to make it priority to say hello to you. So much has changed on this site all for the positive. Most intrigueing reading as well.
Now in response to this topic that seem to have caught my interest the most. I'll give it the acknowledgement that, it's difinetly feed for thought . However if one were to address it seriously for analytical sack , it's quite a contradiction in thought :
1. IN ONE HAND YOU HAVE TWO MEN COMING INTO A CHRUCH WITH A WEAPON TO WEED OUT OR DICIFER IF YOU WILL THOSE THAT ARE WHOLEHEARTEDLYFOR GOD AND THOSE THAT ARE HYPOCRITICAL IN THEIR FAITH , KEY WORD A WEAPON WHICH DIPICTS/IMPLYS VIOLENCE WHICH ARE OF THE WORLD THEN THEY TURN AROUND AND WALKED OUT ?! WHAT DID THAT PROOF, IN MY EYES NOTHING , ANYONE CAN HOLD A GUN TO ONE'S HEAD AND FORCE THEM TO DO WHAT IT IS THEY DESIRED BUT THAT DOESN'T TRULY EXPOSE THE HEART ONLY THAT FEAR DOES LYE IN THAT PERSON WHICH CAUSED THEM TO REACT NATURALLY BY FLEEING NOT CHOOSING TO BE MASSACERED SENSELESSLY , MY THOUGHT IS WHY JUDGE THEM FOR IT ? IF THEY HAD STAYED AROUND AND BEEN SHOT WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN AROUND TO SPREAD GOD'S MESSAGE? WE'RE BETTER USE TO GOD ALIVE AND ABLE TO SPREAD HIS MESSAGE THEN DEAD , DON'T YOU AGREE ? UNDERSTAND THIS, FEAR , HATE , LOVE ARE ALL EMOTIONS GOD HAS GRANTED US TO HAVE IT'S WHAT WE DO WITH IT THAT MAKES US SINFUL OR RIGHTEOUS. IMPOSING GOD'S MESSAGE VIOLENTLY WAS AND ISN'T THE PLAN(HIS PLAN). FOREMOST THE RIGHT TO WEED OUT WHOSE FOR HIM AND WHO'S AGAINST HIM IS EXCLUSIVELY RESERVED FOR GOD HIMSELF NO OTHER !
2. NOW , THE OTHER THOUGHTS THAT THE INTIAL WRITTER SHARED I AGREE WITH IT'S EASY TO SPREAD FILTH BUT WHEN IT COMES TO THE MESSAGE OF GOD THINGS SEEM TO FALL ON DEAF EARS OR ARE MET WITH OPPOSITION , BUT REMEMBER GOD SAID IT WOULD . NO ONE LIKES TO HEAR TRUTH LET ALONE BE FORCED TO SEE THEMSELVES THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE.
