(Pictured: This is the original African Ethiopian sculpture ofAyesu ben-pandira--Ayesu mis-translates to Jesus in Greek holding a lamb. This sculpture not only symbolizesAyesuben-Pandira as "The Good Shepherd" but also shows a black panther at his feet. The black panther symbolizes Ayesu belonging to "The Tribe of Black Panthers from Ethiopia.
Ayesu, a revolutionary, was tried and found guilty of sedition and sorcery. According to Jewish tradition, he was stoned and later crucified by hanging on a tree on the eve of the jewish passover/easter to christians in 70BCE
This sculpture dates back to 100BCE. If there was a historicalJesus, this is him. This sculpture is int he backroom of the British Museum in London, England. Why is this[African] Sculpture in England and why is it not on display?)
