Uhhh...yeah, they are. How can you say that the world was destroyed by a flood, but then say you don't have to provide any proof for it. If I say that lepracauns exist, or dinosaurs used to for that matter, thenyou would expect me to prove it; therefore, the burden of proof would be on me. However, you made the extraordinary claim about a global flood, so there must be some evidence...confused3

I will admit that some of it is merely an informed opinion, but it is based off of many facts. However, most of it cannot be refuted if you simply look at Egyptian text and see that the same thing was copied into the Bible. After a while, the factscome totheir own logical conclusions.

You are right in this instance I have the burden of proof, but I was talking about before the flood comment. I asked the question, could the Kemetic\Egyptians have gotten their religious beliefs from the Hebrews and you said

The earliest trace of Israelite/Hebrew civilization was not until after 1500 BCE. The Egyptian religion was practiced thousands of years prior.

I can show you a lot of socalled facts that the flood happened and for every one claiming there was a flood I can show you one that says it was not. From what I can gather there was a flood but it was not global, and the Arc was never found because of volcanic eruptions that may have destroyed it. Once again this information may be as you say an informed opinion or merely religious zeal.

The earliest physical evidence of any civilization for the Hebrews are in the Tell el-Amarna Tablets found in Egypt. Some of these tablets were written by the then-ruler of Palestine to Pharaoh Akhenaten of Egypt. It specifically stated that Jerusalem was under Egyptian rule. These are dated to about 1300 BCE, but there isn't much more archaeological remains in the area that date earlier than that.

Closer to the bottum of this web pageexplains briefly about the Tell el Amarna tablets being the first mention of Jerusalem.

You can find tons of information with a simple Google search on the Tell el-Amarna tablets.

The bible teaches that three sons came out of Noah. A family of 8 Peter tells us survived the flood.
Now Thoth, unless you have video tape of the beginnings of the world, who are you to argue the beginnings ?. Who are you to speak against ancient writings. I tell ya, youngsters bighairlol.
The only argument you really have, is that you choose not to believe, but to take a stance as though you stood at the beginning knowing what is from the beginning. No sir you do that with others on here. I have greater proof of Jesus than you will ever know. However you will have to be will to take the steps that many have gone before to have knowledge of him. You see, you don't get to God on your terms, the terms are set by him, lest you might think you are the God, upon finding him on your own terms.
So climb down off your high horse and come let us reason together.
You mentioned a book about the Egyptians and basically plagiarism. If writings of westerners is what you hold up as your divine truth's then let me advocate another book for you called the two Babylons. This book plots how all religion stems from one source, but the various many corruptions that happened as men parted and travelled the earth. Yes believe or not, corruptions even in Egypt.
We could change the world, If God would give us the source code.

Ancient writings?...:?...well, for one, there are many writings more ancient than the Bible (Sumer, Harrapa, Shang & Xia of ancient China, and of course Egypt).

Secondly, I would think credence would go to the more ancient literature, which states nothing about any kind of a Noah figure.

You are silly. I don't hold "westerners" writings as the truth. I can read Mdw Ntr (hieroglyphics), and it is obvious that the Bible was copied.

Why are you worried about "proving" that Jesus Christ never existed. I believe in Christ through faith - I've never seen Him, but I know that He is real. The only thing you have proven is that you can put forward some dubious information.
Peace!

If this was addressed at me, I never was trying to "prove" that Jesus didn't exist. If anything, I only pointed out that there is no direct evidence "proving" that he did exist.
