Believing, suspecting and knowing are three different things.

The objective is to know.

How is it most of the so called Christian believers don't know the word HELL is not in the Bible?

The trouble with believing is usually not enough critical thinking is involved. Look at all of the different beliefs in the world. Most of them must be wrong.

Matthew 16 verse 18

Lexi our service on sunday was based upon that scripture. I do believe in God but this is always going to hard for some people to understand. To the world it seems stupid because in this age things must be backed up by evidence. The world sees and then believes where as to havefaith is believe and then see.

See this is what I mean, "people like u" what does this mean? Who are these socalled people? I guess it is christianity or bust. You are so religious that you won't accept the truth never the less I will march on.

The word hell is in the Bible

Matthew 16 verse 18

I have FIVE books that all say HOLY BIBLE on the cover.

I take for granted that that is a LIE.

At best they should say TRANSLATION OF THE HOLY BIBLE.

It is the word SHEOL in the Old Testament which is translated as HELL. I did not learn this until I was over 40 years old even though I spent 13 years in Catholic schools. But you know how Catholics are wih the Bible. Anyway I happened to look up HELL in Cruden's Concordance because of something I heard from some so called Christina about hell that didn't make any sense. So that is how I first learned there was any dispute about the meaning of SHEOL.

Since then I have only encountered 3 Christians who claimed to know about sheol but the vast majority admit they never heard of it. Now even if HELL was the correct translation of SHEOL shouldn't these so called Christians know about the original word?

I think the Christian leadership has been keeping the Christian followers ignorant for centuries and the majority of sheep just follow along brainsoiling their children into the same rut.

ps - The big problem with believing is that it blocks the assimilation of new information, even correct information if it contradicts the belief.
