The biggest myth coming out of Ethiopia is actually one that didn't originate in Ethiopia, and that's the Menelik myth.
The Israelites of Ethiopia aren't as a result of the Queen of Sheba playing the role of a whore to Solomon and having a baby who steals his belongings and sneaks them back down to Ethiopia.
That's a totally unsubstanciated LIE.
The fact is most so-called Falasha, and infact most of the lighter skinned Ethiopians period are descended from the Israelites who migrated down into Africa right before the first destruction of the Jerusalem temple around 500 B.C.
They first went down into Egypt, then Ethiopia.
While most of them converted to other religions and merged into the local African populations, a large segment of them remained separate and maintained thier Hebrew identity.
They aren't "Jews".....Jews come from Babylon.
These are the original Israelites who fled the Middle East to escape Babylonian persecution.
They practice the original religion the Moses gave them and even have the Ark and original Torah.

I agree on the "Melenik myth" being just that -- a myth, but that's there where it ends.
The so-called "Falasha Jews" aren't true Israelites (who are those of so-called Negro, Hispanic and Native American descent today), but aresimply descendants of Ethiopian converts. You can read about that history in the second book of Kings (II Kings 17:26-28). It should benoted, however, that there are Israelitesdwelling in Ethiopia to thisday (Isaiah 11:11), but that does not mean that the actual Ethiopians are Israelites.
The word "Jew" is derived from "Judah" (it's actually short for for
Judah), the head tribe of the Nation of Israel. The tribe of Judahare known as so-called African-Americans today according to the Holy Bible.
As for the Ark, no that is not in Ethiopia, that's completely false. The Holy Bible makes itclear on where the Ark is to this day (Revelation 11:19).
Shalam.
