In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful...the Best Knower.
Salaam (Peace) to all.
It is not necessary to consult various scholars and/or historians to put to rest the lies of the ignorant and the devious. It is sufficient to simply READ the Qur'an for one's self, and to obtain a sufficient grasp of the overall theme/Idea of the Book.
If it is true (and it is)that the circumstances under which a thing comes into existence determine its Nature, or, as Jesus is quoted as saying, "A corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit, nor can a good tree bring forth corrupt fruit...by their fruits ye shall know them"; then, one can easily see that the Holy Qur'an, itself, is sufficient evidence AGAINST any such falsehoods as Islam being "originated" from pagan worship or "moon god" worship. For, if this were true, these traits would be engrained in the nature of Islamic expression today, including the Holy Qur'an. But such is not the case.
Islamis so farfrom being founded upon "moon-god worship" that the very Book of Islam CONDEMNS such as being Idolatrous:
6:75 And when Abraham said to his sire, Azar: Take you idols for gods? Surely I see you and your people in manifest error.
76 And thus did We show Abraham the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and that he might be of those having certainty.
77 So when the night overshadowed, him, he saw a star. He said: Is this my Lord? So when it set, he said I love not the setting ones.
78 Then when he saw the moon rising, he said: Is this [the moon]my Lord? So when it set, he said: If my Lord had not guided me, I should certainly be of the erring people.
79 Then when he saw the sun rising, he said: Is this my Lord? Is this the greatest? So when it set, he said: O my people, I am clear of what you set up (with Allah).
80 Surely I have turned myself, being upright, wholly to Him Who originated the heavens and the earth, and I am not of the polytheists.
Here, according to the Holy Qur'an, Abraham is set before the Muslims as an example to be followed; and as we can see, Abraham CONDEMNED planet worship or any worship of anyTHING other than "Him Who originated the heavens and the earth", whose Proper Name is "Allah". Abraham's rejection of the "moon" as a god, being recorded in the Holy Qur'an, is PROOF that Islam condones no such thing, and never did. In fact, Prophet Muhammad is urged in the Holy Qur'an to "follow the faith of Abraham, the upright one...and he was not of the polytheists." And since Abraham preceded Prophet Muhammad (PBUT) by more than two thousand years, and Prophet Muhammad was instructed to "follow the faith of Abraham", then we can see that Islam is not "new". It is the faith of all the prophets, if we can look past the words and see the Principles.
7:54 Surely your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six periods, and He is established on the Throne of Power. He makes the night cover the day, which it pursues incessantly. And (He created) the sun and the moon and the stars, made subservient by His command. Surely His is the creation and the command. Blessed is Allah, the Lord of the worlds! Here, we are shown that Allah CREATED the "sun and the moon and the stars" and that He made them "subservient" to Man. If "Allah" was, in fact, a "moon god", then man would be made subservient to the moon, and not the other way around, as is clearly stated above.
12:4 When Joseph said to his father: O my father, I saw eleven stars and the sun and the moon -- I saw them making obeisance to me. Here, above, we have another example of the "moon" being subservient to Man. I find it interesting that whenever the Holy Qur'an discredits the worship of the "moon", the "sun" and the "stars" are also mentioned...grouping them all together. But strangely enough, I don't recall EVER hearing these "moon-god" theorists suggesting that Allah is a "sun god"...or a "star god". Interesting.
Below are more examples:
13:2 Allah is He who raised the heavens without any pillars that you can see, and He is established on the Throne of Power, and He made the sun and the moon subservient (to you). Each one runs to an appointed term. He regulates the affair, making clear the messages that you may be certain of the meeting with your Lord.
14:33 And He has made subservient to you the sun and the moon, pursuing their courses; and He has made subservient to you the night and the day.
16:12 And He has made subservient for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon. And the stars are made subservient by His command. Surely there are signs in this for a people who understand.
22:18 See you not that to Allah makes submission whoever is in the heavens and whoever is in the earth, and the sun and the moon and the stars, and the mountains and the trees, and the animals and many of the people? And many there are to whom chastisement is due. And he whom Allah abases, none can give him honour. Surely Allah does what He pleases.
29:61 And if you ask them, Who created the heavens and the earth and made the sun and the moon subservient? They would say, Allah. Whence are they then turned away?
31:29 See you not that Allah makes the night to enter into the day, and He makes the day to enter into the night, and He has made the sun and the moon subservient (to you) -- each pursues its course till an appointed time -- and that Allah is Aware of what you do?
35:13 He causes the night to enter in upon the day, and causes the day to enter in upon the night, and He has made subservient the sun and the moon, each one moves to an appointed time. This is Allah, your Lord; His is the kingdom. And those whom you call upon besides Him own not a straw.
39:5 He has created the heavens and the earth with truth; He makes the night cover the day and makes the day overtake the night, and He has made the sun and the moon subservient; each one moves on to an assigned term. Now surely He is the Mighty, the Forgiver.
41:37 And of His signs are the night and the day and the sun and the moon. Adore not the sun nor the moon, but adore Allah Who created them, if He it is that you serve.
54:1 The hour drew nigh and the moon was rent asunder. Note that 41:37 clearly commands the Muslim "adore NOT the sun NOR the moon, but adore ALLAH who CREATED them." If Allah was a "moon-god", He would give no such command.
The Muslims on this board, if we will but study that which Allah has revealed, need not lose any sleep over the evil whisperings of those who cast evil suggestions into firm resolutions. All we need do is hold fast to that which Allah has revealed, and seek refuge in the Lord of the Dawn from the evil of that which He has created, and from the evil of intense darkness when it comes, and from the evil of those who cast evil suggestions into firm resolutions, and from the evil of the envier when he envies...and from the evil of the whisperings of the slinking devil, who whispers into the hearts of men from among the jinn and the men.
Remember...the Holy Qur'an is its own best defense.

This is good info and it clears up the whole notion that Islam started with prophetMohammed (peace be upon him) and that "moon" worship is not about Islam but more so to do with the pagan Arabs living in the time of "great ignorance", before prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) was sent to them.
good work brother...10/10 for that!niceone.gif

First of all there are rules or laws, it will be detrimental to oneself in realtime if you don't follow the laws, secondly, Islam is not new? but everything you actually practise in your religion in relation to others...is new! I do not speak Arabic so the word Islam means nothing to me. If you "follow the faith of Abraham" then you are Jewish, not muslim, not Islam. Why look past the words when something is plainly set right before you?

The sun can live without you....period. The moon...it has been noted may actually effect you also. Try standing in the sahara desert and see who yields first, you or the sun? you can not live without the sun, who is subservient? if you think the Qur'an states that the sun is subservient to man, then the Qur'an is wrong......it is the other way around.

Now dont get it twisted, the sun is not a god, it is the sustainer of our solar system, it runs our solar system. Without it there is no us.
If we step out the the physical body..... thats another issue

There is no theory, the only thing that has changed in Islam is the names and words, change the words, what you practise is similar to what the moon worshippers before practised. There is a multitude of similarities, and is no such thing as coincidence. I quote you: "if we could look past the words and see the Principles" ???

Nobody is saying Allah is/was/has/ whatever!!!! moon god, why do people argue this point when actually this was never the point being made???
As for the rest of your post......pure dark age mentallity.
