Everything except all the Psalms, I can't take those. Oh and I skipped some of Paul's more repetitive letters in the NTas well... Took me a very long time. You can't read too much of it in one sitting as it doesn't flow like a novel since it's a bunch of different books and stories.

Think I tried once when I was soul searching but didn't get too far.
Would have to get one of those large books with pictures. Funny cause its action packed, not as though it should be boring past the ye olde english in some versions.

No I haven't but from what I have read, religion and whiteman aside, the book is quite seriously profound with principles that cannot be discredted simply because people have used it to do wickedness.

Hope no one is rolling their eyes at me on this, but I have read the Bible from cover to cover in all about 3 times fully, and almost fully 2 or 3 more times. I grew up in a very religious African Methodist Episcopal Zion (AMEZ) church family. Since I was at proficient reading age (6-8), I was at Bible study every week, plus Sunday school and regular service. Once I hit 13, I was in church at least 4 days out of the week. Sunday service & Sunday school, Bible study, and then 2 days of choir rehearsal since I was the church musician/director of music (I play the organ/piano). Being very involved in the local and nationally connectional church, I lived and breathed the Bible.

My outlook didn't change until I was exposed to African cultural literature at 15-16 years old. I worked to graduate early from high school within another year and studied the Bible, Qur'an (not as much), andClassical Black Civilization writingtirelessly almost ever since. This is why I can easily recall many things from the Bible and sometimes from the Qur'an.

Do you find it difficult studying Kemit after such a prolonged exposure to other religions?I'd love to have been brought up 100% Afro-Centric and taght about foriegn faiths afterwards, it does make a diffrence, Nature Vs Nurture and all that.

It was difficult at first, because it took some time for me to get past the mentality where most Christians (African conscious or not) are at. I think I wasin an almost unique position since Iknow the Biblical scripture very well. You see, when I started to read Kemetic literature, it almost immediately clicked that I was reading the same thing in the Bible. Unfortunately, this was only the beginning of mygrowth process. I then tried to "prove" that the Bible came before Nile Valley Civilizations (Kemet, Nubia, Absynnia/Kush/Ethiopia), butfailed miserably. At one point, I was espousing some of the pathetic theories I have heardChristians make on here. Butthe truth is that the Bible at its oldest is only dateable to about BCE 300, but there is some evidence that perhaps500 BCE Isaiah was written since it mentions Assyria's incursions into Kemet. Once I broke through that mental bondage put on me by Christianity, I feel I am only in a position to do a service for my people. I have now successful connected at least some parts ofmost of the Old Testament booksto Kemetic texts or artifacts. Ican even show the origin of some Qur'anic literature.I would not have been able this without being immersed in Biblical theology. I amnot so sure I would have been able to do so being taught an African-centered theology at birth because my outlook would have been totally different.

So, no I don't find it difficult studying Kemet. However, most do not get to where I am after being fully indoctrinated with Christ or Allah. How many African preachers or Biblical scholars have you seen do a full 180 degrees and expose the lie in the Bible? It doesn't happen because most cannot break that mental yoke.

I picked up my mother's bible as a youth and voiced the question how come Noah and the rest of those cats lived for 957 years etc. Never got a convincing answer and that sowed the seeds of mistrust ever since.
Now since reading other literature unless I wanted to study Jewish history and historical mentallity, would not have the slightest interest.
The problem is many people take the symbolism and otherwise ridiculous stories as literal truth defying their own common sense and the laws of physics which Father God put on Mother Earth.. I have no more reason to believe that Noah built a boat for all the world's living species than I would believe that Bredder Tukoma and Anancy the Spider were really good freind. Or that one fictional man named Jesusturn water into wine....and feed 5000 hungry belly with a piece of mouldy bread. Noting nu go so.

When I started looking into religion it was myself I was looking for and even from a Rasta perspective I couldn't find anything I could relate to at the time. Was into culture, loved reading up on the Amer-Indians, mystismand all which lead me back home and to Kemit... Couldn't understand how our people were ever'evil' as stated in the bible, implies that we deserve to go through what we are now.In general Iwanted to shake off the things from slavery after being put througha private english 'education'two steps short of achristian missionary school trust me, Christian hymns in the morningand all that.Love reading into the tribes and noticing it all there...
