It is pretty simple. According to the Abrahamic scripture, once someone has sex with an individual, you are "one flesh" (Genesis 2:24); therefore, are married to the person. No one come in here quoting New Testament crapola, because it contradicts the Old Testament which is the real reverred word of the Hebrew/Jew god. We even find thata raped woman must then become the wife of her rapist becausethe mere act of sex consummates marriage.
If a man finds a girl who is a virgin, who is not engaged, and seizes her and lies with her and they are discovered, then the man who lay with her shall give to the girl's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall become his wife because he has violated her; he cannot divorce her all his days. ~Deuteronomy 22:28-29
In conclusion, there is no such thing as "premarital sex" given the very act ofsex consummates (another) marriage. So, how many spouses do you all have?

I know perfectly well this passage is about rape. I was only making a point to the seriousness the Abrahamic god equated sex with marriage; where even a raped woman becomes the wife of her rapist. Any time a person has sex in the Bible, they mustbe married, because they have become "one flesh". That is except in thecase of adultery, where the accused are stoned to death.

Shem en Tehuti, why do you care now to write of that which you have shown to be reviled and repulsed by?

It was always understood, in the ancient world, that the act of sexual intercourse constitutes a marriage, but with things having been turned upside down in this society for a long time, many remain unaware of these things (Isaiah 29:16).
Lastly, verses 28-29 of Deuteronomy the 22nd chapter are not speaking of rape (people always make this misinterpretation due to either using a false translation, not knowing the Bible, or both). The issues of rape are covered in verse 25 of the same book and chapter.

I agree with the thrust (pardon the pun) of what Shems is saying, and sexual intercousewas certainlyconsidered serious business by the ancients. Sexual energy has a life and a power of its own. However, because this energy is 1) extremely sublime and 2) buried in a cloud of physical exstasy, most people are unable to tap into its power and use it constructively.
But just because it is subtle does not mean it doesn't affect our lives. The misdirection of sexual energy has caused the downfall of empires and destroyed many a life. We are not going to be able to convince the averge brother to reign in his sexual energy so that he could take advantage of the wisdom in the passage that Shem quotes. Our culture needs to be pulled out of the toilet first.
