A philosopher was narrating a documentary called the art of travel. He was explaining our reasons for calling places such as bali and china "exotic". Apparently it is based on the fact that we try and re-balance ourselves. When he spoke to two dutch girls they believed England to be exotic because of the unusual accents and the weather. A Japanese man said that the English breakfast is very "powerful".
To make a long story short I wanted to know if anyone is interested in philosophy. Wierdly enough I became interested in philosophy when I was refering my drama essay to the ancient philospher Aristotle, who was talking about tragic plays being an imitation of life. Plato, a predecessor of Aristotle, seems to disagree. I have tried to find the definition of Philosophy. An internet sources discribed it as "a passion for knowledge". That seemed quote seemed quite interesting.
Does anyone know about ancient African philosophy? I would find that very interesting.
