As presented in the biblical text, there exist 2 conflicting myths on creation and according to Sir James Frazer, Folklore in the Old Testament -- the second chapter was written before the first chapter.

First Chapter:

1. Earth emerged from the waters & was saturated with moisture.

2. Birds and beasts were created before man.

3. All flying fowls were made from the waters.

4. Man was made in the image of God

5. Man was made lord of the whole earth.

6. Man and Woman were created together after creation.

Second Chapter:

1. The whole face of the ground required moistening.

2. Man was created before the birds and beasts.

3. The fowl of the air were made out of the ground.

4. Man was made from dust and then animated with breath of life

5. Man was placed in the Garden of Eden only

6. Man was created first-then birds, beasts--Woman last from his rib.

The two narratives of the biblical text were culled, gleaned, extracted from 2 entirely different sources and then haphazardly combined without rounding out the edges nor smoothing out the inner linings. Ironically the first chapter is called "the Priestly Document" and the second chapter is called "the Jehovistic Document.
