Just had to share this ...someones observation

Let me break this down a little.

Gay men 9/10 of the time gravitate toward stong, assertive women. Many of them are surrounded by these types of women in their families. Look at it.... Star and Al, Terry McMillan and Johnathan, Juanita and this guy.

Also, for that matter, very few strong willed men would be able to be with a woman like that because there would be a constant struggle for control. Relationships like that are destined to fail because a strong woman who is able to control her husband in these instances, begin to look at him with disgust because she is able to manipulate and mistreat him. She realizes she doesn't respect him. So she will A)mistreat him more, or B) leave him. If she does A) eventually his testosterone will kick in, his nutz will drop and he will finally put his foot down. Being raised around and influenced by women all of his life, he tends to be somewhat of a feminist as far as womens equal opp, rights, etc go and that old thing no man should ever hit a woman. That is because it has been drilled into his head as he was being emasculated by women. Once he gets enough and this woman is jumping on him, then he realizes it's not okay to just hit and abuse a woman, but if she attacks me it IS okay to get this bish offa me.... If you read the story, in between the lines, you should be able to gather that she jumped on him and he stood his ground and just for once used his muscle. I can just about imagine what happened.

He was going along with her. She was telling him how the reconcilliation would go, who to be with, talk to, etc. Then she brought up the thing about his male parishoner. He was defensive. Also in his time away from her he has gotten stronger and said no it's not gonna be that way. She was like how dare you try to stand up to me Girly man! lol .... She felt froggy and jumped like she has probably done many times before... and he choked her ass! She didn't press charges because she was turned on. For the first time she saw he was capable of being a man and not her dorrmat and so she has a little respect now.

either that theory OR ...

at 4:am she wanted some and he couldnt deliver and she got mad .. LOL

I'm not quite understanding how it's her fault? If he's weak lily livered man, that's not her fault. The only fault she's made from what I can see is choosing him in the first place.
But LOL at the story, it was amusing.. Girly Man? lol

Spousal abuse/violence is not selective to any one group despite and/or relative to his/her belief system.

The gut and root of the problem and/or cure lie inside behavior modification. Faith, belief and hope are all poor sutstitute teachers to the soul.

I ponder on the outcome...!

Why are you guys taking this out of context?

I mean he was simply laying hands on her which is a common Christian occurrence.

Sometimes you have to stomp the devil out.......kick him until he comes out of the body........

i mean he is a preacher......maybe they got it wrong......

IMAO! Props to AM. Good psycological analysis .lol.

It does happen forget your ''Oh no! Thats so wrong'' higher moral ground because I don't know the circumstances involved type 'ish some men get emotionally bullied by their wives and just flip. Can see it in my neighbours, the woman is a strong Jamaican, her husband is english and meek you can hear her screaming down the house from next door and his little voice typing to keep up. If he hit her she'd beat him down like he owed her money. .lol.

Its prolongued abuse thats wrong.

“There is no harder misfortune in all human history than when the powerful of the earth are not also the first men. Then everything becomes false and awry and monstrous. And when they are even the last men and more beast than man, then the value of rabble rises higher and higher and at last the rabble-virtue says: Behold, I alone am virtue.”- S.A.Israel

another observation...from apparently a so called expert

I just wanna know why he beat her ass. I know it had to be for a good reason. The facts say that the man was trying to leave, she pursued him constantly screaming and nagging until he snapped.
Now I do have common sense, And it looks to me as if dude was trying to leave a conflict. But with most black women in this country they ain't satisfied until they get their point across, regardless if they are in danger, so she was still trying to do that and oblviously provoked that man to hit her. Y'all can say what you want about this matter, but I think we know to look to God for the answer on this one. Man is always the head regardless. Did God say otherwise? And she is not a prophettess; That is straight blasphemy. Research the bible my people for the truth. Check out some of the Gospels for yourself. You will see that what the clergy are doing today has already been done in Jesus time. In the Book of Matthew Jesus told the pharisses, sadduces, and rabbi about themselves and how God didn't approve of the way they were leading his people. SO THINK TWICE ABOUT WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON HERE.

in fact....juanita used to luv da way he ate dat puss part time. She was doing PTL and living on the left coast and he was doing Global Destiny on the East...After being married they would get together @ 2-3 days a week and she would go on to PTL and he would come back to DC. Finally he shut down services at the Potters House and started spending more time with her....He eventually got on her nerve because he was asking for more of a church presence in her ministry and she decided his azz would hafta return to the Potters House in DC and they would keep up the 2-3 day thing. When he said he wasn't going back but setting up shop wit her....she was like....hail to da nah....Take yo azz back and i'll see you when my thang git tah itching and you can bring yo talented tongue. Then it started going down from there because he started getting more annoyed that her ministry was growing and all he ended up with was a wet tongue....No reason to beat dat azz but she wasn't hooking a bruvah up evah...

Bynum's husband released

By D. AILEEN DODD, MIKE MORRIS
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 08/22/07
Thomas Weeks, the 54-year-old bishop who shares an international ministry with estranged wife Juanita Bynum, was released on bond Friday after surrendering on charges that he assaulted his wife.
Weeks spent about six hours inside the Fulton County Jail before emerging at 1:40 p.m., holding a finger to his lips to signal that he had no comment. He climbed into the passenger seat of a silver, four-door Jaguar and rode away.

Weeks's books include "What's on Your Mind: The Level of Your Success Begins with Your Thinking" and "Even As Your Soul Prospers: Realize Your Purpose, Release Your Blessings." Then, there was this book, "Teach Me How to Love You: The Beginnings."

In a brief hearing at the jail, bond was set at $30,000 on a charge of aggravated assault and $10,000 on a charge of terroristic threats, and a magistrate ordered Weeks to have no contact with Bynum or her sister, Tina Culpepper. Weeks, dressed in a gray suit and bow tie, sat silently in the small jail courtroom, his cuffed hands in his lap.
His next hearing will be Sept. 7 in Fulton County Superior Court.
Bynum, a fiery national evangelist whose sermons empower women to walk away from dead-end relationships, was allegedly struck by her husband Tuesday in a hotel parking lot after the pair had dinner together to discuss a reconciliation.
Police said Bynum, 48, has been whisked away by family as they decide what to do next.
A lawyer for Weeks said he will continue his ministry and try to reconcile with his wife after the allegations are dealt with.
"He is extremely sad over the events that have taken place," said Edward Garland, one of the two attorneys representing Weeks. "I think there is hope on his part that the relationship can get past these difficult moments.
"He has never had any accusation of any sort like this from her or anyone esle," said Garland. "There are a lot of circumstances surrounding these events that will be explained at a later time. He is turning it over to the court system at this point.''
Weeks, Garland said, will meet with "a variety of pastors over which he presides, and with his father, who is a minister, and he's going to make a prayerful decision as to how he proceeds. He's dedicated his whole life to the ministry, and we're very hopeful that he will be able to continue to lead the ministry."
Bynum and Weeks are co-founders of Global Destiny Church in Duluth. They were married in 2002 in a lavish televised wedding that featured a 7.76-carat diamond ring. They separated three months ago, said Bynum's sister, Tina Culpepper.
According to an Atlanta police incident report, Bynum said her husband "choked her, pushed her down, kicked and stomped her."
She told police Weeks "continued stomping" her into the ground until a hotel bell man pulled him away. Police also said Weeks threatened Bynum's life.
Culpepper said the couple was meeting for dinner at Concorde Grill in the Renaissance Concourse Hotel near Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Tuesday night.
Police said the couple had met to work out their differences. Things soured, and Weeks walked out to the parking lot about 10:30 p.m., police said. He then turned back around and attacked her, said Officer Ron Campbell.
Weeks also threatened Bynum's life during the attack, police said. "Anytime you tell a person, 'I'm going to kill you,' that moves it up to a felony," Campbell said.
The bruises found on Bynum also were serious enough to bring felony aggravated assault charges against Weeks.
In a comment posted on her MySpace page, the Pentecostal evangelist said, "I am currently recovering from all of my injuries and resting well ... this too shall pass."
Her publicist, Amy Malone, said Bynum wants to keep the matter private.
"People are interpreting it to mean the two of them were fighting," Malone said. "They were not fighting. She was assaulted."
Clergy across metro Atlanta said they were saddened by the news of the public beating of Bynum, a respected "prophetess" whose star rose under the leadership of Bishop T.D. Jakes. Bynum is one of the leading speakers at Megafast, which has attracted hundreds of thousands of people to metro Atlanta in recent years.
Mixing love and ministerial work can take its toll on relationship for pastors with successful followings, clergy say.
"It is tremendously hard to balance a relationship," said the Rev. Cynthia L. Hale, pastor of Ray of Hope Christian Church. "If you happen to be more successful than your spouse or make more money or have greater prestige that is where the challenge comes in. There are many men who are secure in life, but there are also men who are insecure and they have struggled with having their wives [or girlfriends] excel in ways they don't."
Weeks has retained two lawyers: the well-known Garland, who in the past has represented NFL star Ray Lewis in his murder trial and millionaire James Sullivan, who ordered the murder of his socialite wife; and Louis Tesser.
The couple had a home in Duluth, Culpepper said. Upon their separation, Bynum moved to Waycross, where her administrative offices are located.
Members of a Georgia non-profit group, Love for All People, were working late Thursday to hire two bodyguards to protect Bynum. Culpepper said Bynum was appreciative but that it would not be necessary.
Word of the public fight spread to clergy across metro Atlanta who have either met the couple or know of them.
Once a homemaker, a hairdresser and a flight attendant, Bynum's big break came when televangelist Bishop T.D. Jakes invited her to speak at one of his conferences several years ago.
Jakes, who has worked closely with Bynum, had no comment, his spokeswoman said.
Operators at Bynum's ministry in Waycross, Juanita Bynum Ministries, asked the public "to be in prayer for her."
Culpepper, Bynum's sister, said she is keeping her sister company through this difficult time.
"She is resting well and healing of all the injuries," Culpepper said. "The injuries are not just physical."

Evangelist's Husband Will Fight Divorce

Tuesday September 11, 2007 7:16 PM

By ERRIN HAINES
Associated Press Writer
ATLANTA (AP) - Attorneys for a minister accused of attacking his popular televangelist wife in a hotel parking lot said Tuesday that they will contest her petition for divorce.
Randy Kessler, one of the attorneys representing Thomas W. Weeks III, said they are considering whether their counterclaim will accuse Juanita Bynum of cruel treatment - the same charge her divorce petition levels at him.
``Cruel treatment is a very vague legal term,'' Kessler said. ``There's a possibility that there's cruel treatment on both sides, but we're not committed to that position.''
A lawyer for Bynum, 48, filed the divorce petition against Weeks, 40, on Monday.
The couple married in 2002 and, according to the petition, have been separated since June.
Bynum cited ``cruel treatment'' as grounds for divorce, and said the marriage is ``irretrievably broken.''
The filing came less than three weeks after Bynum accused Weeks of choking, pushing and stomping her in a hotel parking lot Aug. 21. Weeks, known to his followers as Bishop Weeks, has been indicted on felony and misdemeanor charges that could send him to prison for up to 27 years.
Whether Weeks' attorneys decide to pursue a cruel treatment claim against Bynum is up to him.
``He has to make a decision about whether he wants to do that, especially given that he would still reconcile with her at this point,'' Kessler said.
Bynum's divorce attorney, Karla Walker, did not immediately return a call seeking comment Tuesday. Bynum's publicist, Amy Malone, said in a statement e-mailed to The Associated Press on Sunday that Bynum never struck Weeks before the assault and that she did not physically retaliate during the assault.
Bynum is a former hairdresser and flight attendant who became a Pentecostal evangelist, author and gospel singer. Her ministry blossomed after she preached at a singles event about breaking free of sexual promiscuity, and she is known for her intense, no-nonsense style. Among her books are ``No More Sheets: The Truth About Sex'' and ``Matters of the Heart.''
Her album ``A Piece of My Passion'' had been listed in the top 10 gospel albums by Billboard magazine for several months. She also preaches through televised sermons. The couple married in a million-dollar, televised ceremony. Together, they wrote ``Teach Me How to Love You: The Beginnings.''
