Default Personality Worship - 01-09-07, 12:47 AM

Its just personality worship...

She represents what others only dream to be.....

She was a beautiful person....

In comparison to the media hip hop personalities....she was genuine.....

May She Be Forgiven Her Sins & Granted Paradise

It is true that princess di has been encapsulated as an eternal icon.

However, my dear don't totally discount the worship of ancestors -- if we as black folk gave libation and homage to our "own" ancestors rather than ignoring them -- our apparant struggles would be much minimal.

Truthfully every other culture, not race because there is only one race of human beings--worship their ancestors:

e.g.

The Chinese do this when they celebrate their Chinese New Year.
The Italians do this when they celebrate Columbus day.
The Haitians did it when they eliminated the French -- fact is, they are they only group of black folk that have overtly taken the European mole out of their backs!

So you see, I am not mad at the Europeans for honoring Princess Di, cause by doing so they are in a sense keeping her alive...!

Nice post!

HONORING AND WORSHIPPING ARE 2 DIFFERENT THINGS

I HONOR MY FATHER AND MOTHER FOR WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY HAVE
HELPED ME TO ACHEIVE,BUT IT WAS TRHOUGH GOD THEY COULD DO THAT, I HONOR GOD, BUT I WORSHIP HIM, PRAISE HIM, PRAY TO HIM, CALL ON HIM, COUNT ON HIM, RELY TOTALLY ON HIM, W/O HIM WE CANT FUNCTION, HE IS THE THE ALL IN ALL,

[40] And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this
untoward generation. (Act 2:40 KJV)

Venerate is the word I think. A person venerates the ancestors.

Diana is an icon of theirs, theres supposed to be a bit of masonic type mystism behind it all as Diana is also a moon diety or something like that.... some stuff about a swan.

She was an icon for them doubt the media or public would have taken to her so much if she had married what's his name. Think it all went a bit wrong there.

The idea of, 'worship' differs in understanding from African - Western which is where, 'Venerate' would offer a better understanding.

Agree with 1952 on the whole libation thing... the majority of peoples visit a graveside to grieve and leave flowers. The europeans have a fear of the dead more so than most I'd say, a la, 'Dawn of' and so on.

Black Lion is... Agu Bu Oji in Igbo, Simba nyeusi in Swahili, the name of a hospital in Addis Adaba the capital of Ethiopia.

Why do you need to pour libations and chant to the dead? They cannot hear or see you.....

Factually and GENETICALLY speaking YOU are the sum total of all who came before you physically, mentally, spiritually and intellectually. (good or bad)

Thus your 'ancestors' are in YOU!

Nourish your body and your soul...nourish your 'ancestors'
