They came out of a state where they didn't know of the division of things, everything was one, they went from living a universal law, no good or bad as everything has purpose, to an earthly one where there is good and bad
even though everything is universal and has purpose... they became
gods in their imperfection, given dominion over the earth as they came from a higher state, paradise, and were given the choice to not live within that state.
In their world there would only have been a collective, in choosing to have free will they became conscious of themselves and actions, became separate from God to become ''gods'' and add to that collective conscious they came from, to re yolk is to self realize and unite again with that consciousness (paradise). They were living as the automaton and became gods when they decided not to... just as God his/herself did when s/he first created the universe and spoke into the waters. So in your theory they were Africans exiled from Africa as they chose to know of themselves and not live in harmony with God and the universe...
Bit of waffle but theres sense in there somewhere
