kunjufu:
i am an American Christian. i am also not ashamed of my African heritage like some blacks who try and distance themselves by saying they were born in the USA and therefore are American and have no root in Africa.
I love the mother land and long to be able to help her,
God does not excuse national sin. Not even for those who support Israel.
As a student of the Bible I find that in the latter days there is no mention of any nation such as the USA. The antichrist will come from a European nation and his headquarters will be set up in Babylon or Iraq after coming to power.
and most interesting is that the last war we find Russia, China, Egypt and other nations coming against Israel and it states that no one is there with Israel,
I can only suspect that there will be dire happenings in this nation that will bring us low, i don;t think it will necessarily be the results of nuclear war because that will affect the whole world adversly.

it certainly can be likened to babylon. but babylon will be rebuilt in iraq outside of Baghdad. this will be where the antichrist will headquarter the United Nations.

this country was built on conquest,rape.pillage.slavery
there's not much happening now that's worse than anything that happened in the history of the united states or in the history of the world..........
people(us) used to be enslaved...in shackles like animals...here and in the rest of the "so called new world "...people who talk the revelations/doomsday stuff forget that .
Some religious zealots preach that nonsense about other parts of the world are suffering for their worship of false gods.etc ...and that's as funny to me as this thread.

North America is like the 3rd or 4th biggest continent...Its only natural for a higher than average amount of natural disasters to happen here..Add the fact that everything is so dramatized for ratings here I could see why people see it like that. How long do I have to watch the same loop of video of a house burning?

this talk of God's punishment reminds me of the "Ham's Curse" crap that missionaries taught to Black people for generations....

I agree with most of what has been said.
the American indian, mexico, black slaves....lots of national sins to pay for. nothing but history repeating itself..the greeks, the romans, the hoards, the assyrians and on it goes.
no power gotten by ill gains has remained intact. call it hocus pocus or what you want. there is a God who sits high and looks low. he does not miss anything.
he allowed a clown like bush to attain the presidency and screw up the balance of power in the USA. if the US were not quagmired in iraq there would be a different diplomacy in the world today.
Bob Marley said...."it's all gonna come tumbling down..." now there was a prophet for sure.

Kunjufu..what is your answer to the question you posed?
You can't avoid natural disasters....certain factors can make their impacts worse though
911 to me was a series of events allowed to happen, just like pearl harbor, to outrage Americans into allowing certain military and legislative actions.
The hurricanes and wild fires are made worse by the arrogance of the government/capitalists who....in the spirit of getting as much money as possible.....have overdeveloped certain danger prone areas.
Katrina actually missed New Orleans, hit other places dead on, but the levee was faulty...so the flood almost destroyed the city.
No empire last forever, so eventually the power of the united states will not be what it was....but too many innocent Black people worldwide encounter hardship, disasters, brutality EVERY DAY for me to believe that recent string of disasters in this country are a biblical level reproach by the creator....

i am going to New Orleans in December for a highschool football tournament in the Super Dome.
I am going to arrive late at night and leave by night. I do not want to see what was the city.
there was a certain foretune teller who was run out of town because she did not alert the citizenry of the forboding disaster.
there is also a flesh eating virus attacking citizens in America. I have a friend whose grand daughter was infected in Galvaston at the beach. this is being held down for obvious reason.
i hesitate to ask this question...but for the sake of conversation i will.
what about the genocide, drought and famine in the mother land. what happened in our mother land for her to be afflicted as such?
