It just goes to show you that once again, monotheism is African. In this case, it deals with adulatry in as much as Budha is reorded in a statute. But, the basis of the religion, like Judaism, Islam and Christianity is definitely African.

This also proves our ancient links to Asia, long before significant contacts with westerners.

Bismillaah. Salaam/Peace. Well, as a favorite religion of yours, will you enlighten us about it? I've read that there are some factions of Buddhism that do not declare the Reality of The One GOD. Does this mean that they do not accept The One GOD?

Buddha of India was Black, early images show him as African.

Although its my favorite religion and I would describe myself as being a Buddhist I'm more into Hebrew. I practice, meditate and so on but am not versed in the religion directly as I use a Hebrew and Egyptian form of practice.

In my experience, Buddhism is about self realization, rather than recognize something external of oneself they recognize what is within as the saying goes; ''What is above is below''. Working with mantras that scientifically, promote certain brainwaves and patterns they attempt to gain certain attributes/virtues which lead to what they call attainment. Very much similar to the way you guys recite over the Q'uran, they recite mantras, meditate on mandalas and so on.

A perfect religion in my opinion as it can't be corrupted, it isn't dependent on a leader or hierarchy of any kind and you can't be an evil Buddhist as it corrupts the work you've done and would set you back, even came about as an alternative to the corruption of religion (Hinduism and its caste system).

Bismillaah. Salaam/Peace. Shukran, - much appreciation - for the information on Buddhism. I bought a hardcover book about Buddhism, some years ago, but, put it aside. I guess I just didn't understand what it was relating to. I've been known to quaff, from many a Spiritual fountain. Perhaps, if, I can find a little more quiet in this land, of the U.S.A., I will return again, to my contemplative duties, in earnest, and take a closer look at Buddhism, and its meditative practices.

And, you are welcome to the link. I was surprised to find those pictures. Thanks for the Mandala link, it is of interest to me, too.

One of my favorite axioms is from gatama.

About the distraught woman who's only son had died.

Family and friends had tried for weeks after the death to console her to no avail. Finally someone asked her to come with them to see the Lord Gatama.

She approached him and he asked her what could he do for her. She asked him to bring her son back from the dead.

He told her that he would if she would do one thing he would do it. He gave her his beggars bowl and asked her to go and bring back a bowl of rice from a family which has not been touched by death.

She left hurriedly and after months of searching she returned. Her state of mind was peace and calm. He asked her if she found what she sought. She told him no but she did find that no family is spared from death.

I have used this many times to console Christians.
