Noel Jones - The Battle for the Mind. For years I saw the author preach in london and knew he was quite solid in his teachings so when I purchased this book recommended this book by a friend of mine and embarked on reading - not finished yet- I have found it to be very insightful as to how the mind operates in a spiritual sense and how I as a Christian can work to keep my mind at the place where it needs to be in God. It draws on theology and philosophy in a way that I can understand it alongside strong biblical support throughout.

I like books by Dr Myles Munroe - I have "Understanding the purpose and power of men" and Understanding the purpose and power of prayer. The first one I bought because I have a desire to understand what manhood in Christ really means. It punches at a weight I can handle f you catch my drift. Its a book I would reccomend to young men probably 18 and up - even though I'm 25 its something I consider to be essential reading.

I have TD Jakes speaks to Men as well - classically TD Jakes is powerful but that is 3 books in one so it takes a bit of skimming.

If you are looking for Christian theological apologetics style books - Norman Geisler is probably the biggest name out there and has some pretty decent reviews.

Amazon has a fairly extensive collection of Christian books - I generally search by author based on a recommendation then check the offshoots of the results. Myles Munroe at th moment for me is a safe vet

There are some good sound contemporary writers, but I would suggers that you stick with the KJV bible (scoffield or thompson) with a strong's greek/hebrew concordance. and any lay books I would suggest older versions. contemporary write to sell books mainly rather than giving the truth.

truth does not sell very well.

Try some Smith Wigglesworth books for understanding the faith walk. I would not rely on commentaries so much as I would the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you unto all truth.
