Me Know

Quote:
I was mistaken in making the statement that the name of Jesus does not matter. All through the New Testament the name of Jesus is mentioned and the power behind it the least of which is the power to save. I stand corrected.

The Krist’s name was therefore TRANSLITERATED. I would hope that you investigate what this means and the process.

@ Me Know - Not everybody thinks or talks from a biblical reference point. I see that you do.

Good day to you

Who the krist is would have bearing on my thinking as to whether he is the same as Christ. Remember Christ is simply a title of Jesus. Christ is not His name Sekhmet.

Yes I do think biblically as you say when you would ask me what my belief is and I also am working to integrate it into my lifestyle sekhmet. Christianity is not a religion to me but a lifestyle.

Other than you being angry that i am "brainwashed" do I offend you with my respect to Jesus the Christ? I make no excuses or apologies for being a christian sekhmet. I do know that some of us can be a little abrasive. just as in any 'sect' but do you judge all by some?

A question, If you are born a sinner what purpose do the Ten Commandments serve or is it a question of how much of a sinner you are?

Inc:

as far as christianity and sin goes.

the commandments were given to man by God on Mt. Siani as a guide for them to obey Him and remain under His blessings. There were the do's and don'ts and there consequences.

but like a stop sign the Mosiac Law can not stop sin. It is only a sin of what sin is i.e. "thou shalt not kill", "thou shalt not steal", "thou shalt not commit adultry", "thou shalt no lie with an animal as with a man/woman" etc. men had a choice to live by these laws or choose not to.

don't know what your reference is to with how much of a sinner....

I try not to sound like I am shoving christianity down anyones throat. Christianity is solely voluntary. A person must out of his or her won free will accept the basic tenents which is the virgin birth, death and ressurection of Jesus Christ. If you can not believe this then there is no reason to go any further.

Same as accepting the bible. The first four words of Genisis are the hardest to accept, but unless you believe them the rest of it does you no good.

I heard Christianity called the good infection once. It truely is infectuous. I can attest to that being so. Not being ashamed or afraid to admit it is the next step because intellecually it makes no sense. In the physical realm Christianity makes absolutely no sense i.e. walking on water, raising people from stinking death,
healing the blind, sick and lame with a touch or a word, and so on and so forth.

But you know i listen to intellectuals on here and else where beat down christianity and go ga ga over writing on the pyramid or other walls. search me...

have to run. eating crawfish with some buddies...may even partake of a heinekin.
I like you. Your "aloofness," for lack of a better word, in introducing Christianity to a non-believer actually has a counter-effect of making someone most likely to want to know more because you are giving them a choice and less likely to push someone who already isn't interested so far away that they vow to never be interested. It makes your intentions seem genuine.

Don't be sending me any pamphlets though. just jokes.
But I would be more inclined to listen to someone with your approach (if I were interested in Christianity but did not know much about it and was not yet a believer).

for a truth in spirituality is an individual process.

It has taken 500 years to create the facade of religiosity called Christianity that has many a Christian thinking, hoping and praying that salvation by proxy is the truth the way and the light.

It may take more than half that time to undo the damage done by this "enforced" brainwash ~ on a group of people who refuse to use logic, reason and common sense to search out their own hearts, minds and souls.

Afriki there are christians who i do not like spending 5 minutes in there company. If you study Jesus you will find that He never forced anyone or taught christians to rush at anyone.

I have a running battle with a few on here but only in defense of my belief. Whe attacked I have a problem turning the other cheek. I sometimes ask a few questions of other beliefs but I am secure in mine so I have little to worry about being "brained washed".

I enjoy talking to those of other beliefs who are not zealots.

I will tell you that you have just made enemies by even suggesting that I have a sane point to make .

I look forward to hearing your opinions and possibly sharing. i promise not to send fliers or come knocking at your door.

good posting

Default is it wrong to discuss the falseness of christianity with christians - 12-04-08, 08:30 PM

just thought to add my point to this discussion. In answer to the question put, which i think is a valid point, but maybe the way the question is put might get many christians on the defensive. Is it wrong to know the truth about what you believe? No it's not. Isn't it the TRUTH that sets you free?

I raised in pentecostal christianity for many years. well brainwashed. Until i started to study not the bible itself, but what are the roots of it. who edited the bible, how did christianity start, and why? what was the AGENDA behind it, and ALL religions as far as i'm concerned.

For me no religion or spirituality has THE TRUTH, but all have an element of truth, but not the whole ,why cos they ALL come from basically the same roots.
I will get slated by christians, but that's ok. I will called a backslider and other such and people will try to save my sinful soul, that's ok. IN the end we all believe what we want to. I have my own spirituality and i wouldn't bash anyone over the head with it. freedom of choice.
