KNOWLEDGE

UNDERSTANDING

....only catch is that you must think and venture outside your book of lucky charms and I really don't think you're quite mature enough for the journey down the rabbit hole.

This should be in the philosophy forum, in my opinion. Here's my take on this...

To believe in God, or to believe in any concept for that matter, connotes a lack of intelligence with regard to the subject at hand. You must ask if you believe something, meaning you don't have sound premises for a supporting rationale (yet accept it anyhow), then what is it you really understand? If it can't be said that you understand much on a particular subject, then how is it at all possible to muster intellect without understanding and knowledge? Therefore, belief denotes the logical impossibility of intellect (on a particular subject) in my mind.

Now, if you do not believe in God, it could mean one of two things. You could be just as unintellectual as the person who believes in God if you both go by the same premises (i.e., Indo-European concept of "God", etc.). Or you could be of considerable intelligence given you don't believe, but you know, that God exists given some set of sound premises.

We get confounded trying to get back to Africa. On my first trip to Africa, they asked, "Where's your passport?" I said "I have no passport...I was taken away 500 years ago; and now I'm back."

.lol.

No offense meknow but that was a good line.

Theres a certain something lacking in Indo-European religious systems as Shemsi explained, seems that certain belief systems ask too little of their followers and so it is comparable whether it takes little or more to be a sheep or at least a shepard of your own flock as it were.

First he was, then he wasn't, then he was again... and all because he always was.

so shemsi it takes less intellect to believe in God without logical precepts...in fact you point out that this should be seen and ignorance i think you said. hmmmmm

and on the other hand it could go either way.....hmmmmmm let me digest this bredder.

bl, you are blaming the europeans again.

although I can master myriads of stuff to my recall and understand it all, yet if i can not understand the power of creation i know nothing. all knowledge begins there.

here is where you and i agree shemsi, all the stuff we solve in between is meaningless unless we can logically see the "first cause", the prime movement, the impetus...ect....

logic does not my friend disprove the existance of God, it shows how shallow some men are and fearful to go beyond logic.

logics limits and places you in the proverbial box...
