WHY are some black people shocked at the events in Madrid?

I'm not sure why some black people are shocked at the level of racism shown by the spanish. If anyone has ever lived in Spain for a while, they will know that the notion of black inferiority is imbedded into the Spanish mentality.

This is not just in Spain but across southern Europe in general. blacks well really Africans, (because a black American, Jamaican or Brazillian would be treated differently from black Africans and other blacks) are treated with absolutely NO respect, they are treated as less than humans! Anblackwoman minding her own business in Madrid or Barcelona will be acossted with taunts of "how much" or "puta puta" because the Spanish are unable to believe that not every black woman is a prostitute.

I have a friend in Spain who was recently assaulted in a nightclub by a Spanish man because she (a black woman)had the "nerve" to turn him down. This woman is a rare succesfull black british woman in spain and I belive the fact that she held a bristish passport contributed to her success.

The only job black men can get is selling fake designer bags on the street. Not once have I seen a black man carrying out a regular job in Spain or Italy, but yet England is worse than Spain?

England is a racist country, however this is Europe, white man land so this is to be expected, (but not tolerated). England along with Holland are by far the best places for black people in Europe.

Cezar the number of black Africans in Spain are small in comparison to the number of North Africans, yet black Africans are treated the worse with absolutely no respect. And this just doesn't apply to poor immigrants, my firend who moved to Spain from England was not poor (earns more money than the majority of Spanish people) but yet she still faces the daily derespect and hatred.

Your right though about Spain being a newly developed nation, and not just that being so close to Africa, the Spanish particularly in the south are not exactly pure blood europenas so this does affect the way the treat immigrants, but its also a race issue.
