I realise that they don't have to donate anything at all, but come on that's an average of about £500,000 from each club. Maybe it would be more impressive if the footballers at the Premiership clubs donated a weeks wages each. If I could afford to do this I would but there can't be a single one of them who cannot afford it

if they only gave £1 million, then they only gave £50K per club, not £500K

Charity isn't about forcing people to give and picking and choosing who should give what. It should be the players/clubs choice and nobody else...

If everyone was amazingly generous - a lot of the world's problems could be sorted out tommorow...
