Why isn't Man U making move for a defensive mid? Gattuso would be perfect for them in he is quick and can play at the EPL pace. He is a proven ball winner, tough as they come and likes to wear red.

Riquelme is tooooo sssllloowww for the EPL did they not learn anything from their and Chelsea's Veron experiments? Jesus does history mean anything when it comes to slow Argentine midfielders? LOL

Then again maybe they should sign him LOL

Safety,

You never cease to amaze me! Do you actually follow "English Soccer", or are you being tongue-in-cheek??

I have no idea who you're talking about (I have better things to do than watching 22 (I think) grown men kicking a ball up and down a pitch for £200,000,000 a year - each), so I don't know if you're being ironic.

Like the play on words, though

Its becoming almost impossible for most teams to bring in quality player nowadays - Chelsea are making it impossible...

Obi Mikel, Ballack springs to mind.... both United targets screwed because of Chelsea
Quote:

Saying that... United will need both attacking and defensive midfielders i reckon
Scholes is past it... Smith and Fletcher not good enough..!!

Rumours are Gudjohnsen might go to United, in a swap deal with Ruud.........

But that might not happen if Schevchenko decides to come to Chelsea- he will make an announcement tomorrow i think...!!

@Lady Vee

Yeah I actually watch English soccer, as well as German, Italian, French, Brazilian, American, and Spanish. We have a few channels here that are dedicated to nothing but soccer or futbol and when regular games are not playing they show past games like the 1999 FA cup or just great games from the past. I came hom and TIvo had the 1979 FA Cup game for me between Arsenal and Man U. Talk about perms and short shorts. Tooooooo much knowledge about some of the players LOL

@ rafa

Yeah Chelsea is going to cause the world of soccer to experience what we NFL fans know as the evils of a salary cap.

I have been telling people. I like the players that Chelsea has but I hate their backroom. They are ruining soccer as we know it. #1 They bring in players like SWP and sit them on thebench making them no good for club or country. #2 They buy players just for the sake of not allowing others in the league to get a player of caliber. Even Man U has to go out hunting players in the dark dressed in Nottingham Forest clothing just so they will not alert Chelsea who will swoop in and outbid you.

Even Arsenal fans did not know a thing about Rosicky until the last minute LOL

These clowns have to be stopped at all costs this season. Liverpool and Man U are good on pitch rivals Chelsea is just determined to smother the league period.

Wot i dont understand is why a player would want to come to chelsea in the first place. No proper self respecting player would. Big up Theo Walcott for refusing to be lured in by the blues. But why go to chelsea when all you're likely to get the bench in a club with no class and no history? I dont understand players like obi, essien or adu (apparently sed he would love to join chelsea) that choose chelsea as their destination.

Wot we liverpool fans need is to land that billionaire robert kraft. At least then maybe we could be able to compete finacially.

On the subject of man utd they need to cut loose fletcher and oshea (keep richardson maybe). This midfield is probs their biggest dilemma. Even alex ferguson said that he's finding it hard to replace keane.

Because money talks. If your in you're late teens/early 20s and someone offers you £20,000 per week more than what you're on, your mind suddenly tells you you're good enough to win your place in the team.

The playersagents are partly responsible too . Some are just interested in closing the deal and earning the commish, the players future is secondary.

Man U have so far been linked to Carrick, Gattuso, Vieira, Diarra and a whole heap of other center midfielders so far. What Alex Fergusson is REALLY up to will have to remain a secret for all the reasons you outlined.

By the way it's not just Obi Mikel and Ballack that Chelsea screwed us on but Robben and Ronaldinho as well. At least they now have to pay up for Obi Mikel and are paying utd 10 million to shush it all up.

Schevchenko decides to leave Milan!!

Chelsea open talks with Milan!!

Chelsea also linked with Roberto Carlos

Desperate attempts by the evil Roman Empire to buy the Champions League - its so funny!!

Will be even more funny when they fail to deliver in the Champions League next season

@ safety

Good points...... "Peter Kenyon" is the word you were looking for there...

They've ruined so many talents not just SWP......

Kezman, Parker, Bridge and now probably Del Horno

Its Fantasy football stuff....

Their midfield is probably one of the best in Europe, and they go on and sign Ballack wtf?? confused3

Anyway, what are your predictions for next season?

Not to mention Glen Johnson, Huth (going for 5.5 million to Wigan), and Carton Cole. Doinga pretty good job of screwing Gallas over too. Not surprised he wants to leave, he's bored.

My heightened interest in the SPL at this rate. Oh and Arsenal's neglect to buy two morecentre backs, and central midfield cover.

@ Peace

Good point about Gallas - he's by far Chelsea's most underrated player - .......One of the best cbs in the league if not the best - shame he doesnt get the credit he deserves...

With Ballack's signature, I wont be surprised if Makelele trys to find his way out as well.... i feel one of Essien and Makelele have to make way.....I doubt he will drop Essien and he wont drop Fat Frank either..!!

I have to argue that at the moment, William Gallas is the best BACK in the league. Not only can he cover center he has been asked and did remarkable jobs on the right and left for Chelsea this season. He can go forward, not far but can go forward with the ball and not the greatest threat of a score but a helluva clearer and not scared to get physical with anyone. I saw no flaws in the man this season. Now his captain was broken down many times this season by forwards, Gallas has given up nothing easy from what I saw of him.

Chelsea ruined Kezman, yeah I forgot about him, and what about the other forward who was good? The one that went to sex enhancement drugs and was banned? He was decent to before his arrival at Chelsea.

Watch if Maka and Gallas leave Chelsea's reign is over. Ballack does not have the stamina to run in an EPL match. He disappears in the slow Bundesliga god help him in the EPL. Essien while good likes to ease forward Maka will not go farther than 10-15 yards away from the defense to protect them at all times. A Maka absense is going to expose Terry and Cech for what they are......protected....Recber for Turkey was the best keeper at the last WC out and out and for my case the best in Europe because he did not let anything go past him easy. He stopped all the Brazilians single handedly and it took magic to and a cheating Rivaldo to do him in.....

Anywayz if Adu goes to Chelsea good riddence I do not like him as he is second rate in the MLS and if he thinks his laziness and greediness will make him great in the EPL his eyes will be awakened as he is loaned out to an EPL newcomer in his second season to sit on the bench.......
