Kalou, still only 20, can play either as a central striker or on the flanks and had been hoping to play for the Netherlands at the World Cup finals this summer.
However, his bid for Dutch citizenship was rejected and he may now pledge his international allegiance to the country of his birth, Ivory Coast.
What do yall think about him potentially playing for the ivory coast . while he rejected them before?

If Ivory coast were in a better position in terms of players, I'm sure they would tell this man where to get off, however I doubt that will happen. However in my view it is just plain wrong to have this backdoor international transfer system going on... I see this creeping in more and more in sports like Athletics, and I think it detracts from the sport and the integrity of those country who indulge in this practice.

Yeah he's on the verge of signing for chelsea. I've seen him play for feyenoord and he could become a big player. But i agree with you that he probably knows ivory coast will take him no matter what.I've seen this type of thing alot in athletics too, with some kenyans running for qatar. But i think it is a big disrespect to the other players who are commited to their country, to see someone just come in and take their place. If it does happen.

Actually it was the Kenyan team I had in mind when I spoke about Athletics....I think the was appalling that the Kenyan runner was allowed to switch to Qatar, change his name and even his religion...WTF

Yeah I remeber the situation with the kenyan steeplechase runner. I can't remember his name but from what I remember Qatar made a deal with him where they will pay him $30,000 every month for the rest of his life if he represented them instead of kenya (Dont quote me on the monetary figure Im sure its not accurate but its somewhere around thT SUM).
This pissed off the kentyan athletics association, so they purpossly delayed his switch so that he would not be able to take part in the olympic games

Players like Solomon is why I found a shirt and dnced around it with the Senegalese and their goal over France......
Still why is Chelsea looking to get all these damned players and sit them on the bench?
