Would you adam and eve it......

Blackburns Lucas Neil decides to turn down Liverpool for ....West Ham

His reasoning was because West Ham wanted him more. What he meant was WH were willing to pay £50,000 per week, twice the amount Liverpool were going to pay him.

Never mind the fact he may end up relagated, he chose money before glory. Who TF is he anyway, never heard of him.

LOL Dude he knew it was a hard shot for him to get off the bench there. Why go to a place where you would not play?

Money

He was offered more of it by West Ham and he obviously saw he stands a chance of getting two bites of the cherry. If West Ham stay up its a bonus because he would earn £25,000 a week more than he would have got at Liverpool and is more likely to figure prominently. On the otherhand if the Hammers go down he will get a chance to move on and negotiate an even better deal than the £35,000 Liverpool originally offered.

Hes in a win-win situation

oh yeah, great result today as well. I knew Chelsea were on the backfoot but Liverpool really did a number on them today and back at Anfield for the 1st since conceeding 9 goals in two games, that was a huge result.

Liverpool for the title? Doubt it, but they are going to make Chelsea work for 2nd thats for sure.

@ SB and NL

Maybe he should have gone for gold.

Liverpools defence at the moment has one, possibly two guarenteed places. Carragher being one, Finnan probably the other.May have been worth the challenge, because if the Hammers do get relegated, unless hes exceptional he may never return to the Premiership ever again. Thats a big risk to take because every players goal surely is to reach the top ie, a top club with a chance of winning top honours. Hes just turned that chance down.

The only time i would think it not worth it is in obvious situations as in Sean Wright Phillips case or if youknow you're not that good anyway. In which case you may as follow the money.

@ Tobitrice

Your wish may soon come true.

Harry Kewell believes he could be back in a Liverpool shirt in time for the Champions League double-header with Barcelona.

The Australian has not played since injuring his foot in the World Cup but has now resumed running and could be fit when the Reds visit the Nou Camp on February 21.

"I hope that I'm about three or four weeks away from being fully fit," said Kewell.

"I'm under the supervision of the medical team here and the surgeons who operated on me, so once they're all happy with the running then I can start on ball work. Once that's going well it's up to the manager when he decides I'm ready."

On returning to light training at Melwood, he added: "That was amazing, just getting to this stage is a major relief and a weight off my mind.

"The lads are great here, they're always asking when I'm going to be ready and how I'm going, but you can't really feel part of it unless you're getting your shirt dirty with them at the weekend[/align]

I dont know rafa! Watching momo play he looks immense in midfield but the stats dont compliment him. Ever since he got injured we've kept more clean sheets and had a run of wins. Food for thought eh?

I wouldnt say it was because of momo that we were doing badly becasue in all honesty at the start of the season we were playing rubbish football. Momo is good at the holding job. My criticism of Momo is that he doesnt offer much going forward and is proneto passing mistakes. Although a very good player, i will start a campaign if stevie is shifted to the right again!

@ tobitrice

You bring up stats = but then i could turn round and say we went on a 10 game unbeaten run TWICE last season - and that came with GErrard playing on the right, Kewell on the left and MOMO in the middle

We've played the best football and looked more COMPOSED with Momo in the team... esp against the big sides...

We wouldnt have played like p*ssys against Arsenal for a start - where everyone shy'd away from making a tackle

Our poor start to the season was more to do with players like Gerrard and Alonso underperforming - alongside the other players who returned from the world cup. Its got nothing to do with Gerrard playing on the right
and Sissoko in the middle.

Last season he had tons of assists, goals - and it came with him playing on the right

He's been playing in the middle since November - and he's been nothing special. He's done nothing to make Rafa think twice.

@ Le Moor

I thought we've played really well second half

First half though - we were so poor - didnt know whether to laugh or cry...........worst half i've seen for a while.
