Stan the dogging man.

Please, a comeback in the EPL at 35 years old. Even if it were going to happen how long would it last?

Just shows he may have conquered his demons, which ishighly unlikely knowing Stan, but he sure hasnt conquered his senses.

Get a life Stan.

Paul Eaton 04 October 2006

Moroccan striker Nabil El Zhar is confident he can be a success at Anfield after completing his move from St Etienne.

The 20 year old played for the reserves in their 4-1 defeat to Newcastle last night in a game which saw Robbie Fowler net for the Reds.

El Zhar, who was born in France but has opted to represent Morocco at international level, came to prominence during last year's World Youth Championships where he helped his country reach the semi-finals of the competition before they were knocked out by Nigeria.

Having decided to bring an end to his career with St Etienne, he's now hopeful of forcing his way into Rafael Benitez's Anfield plans.

He said: "St Etienne offered me a professional deal but I waited before signing it because I was unconvinced it was in my best interests to stay.

"When we came back for pre-season training I came back with the seniors, but they weren't really expecting me.

"So I preferred to pack my suitcases and go somewhere where I'd have a long-term future, that's to say Liverpool.

"They are a big club, but I'm convinced I've made the right decision to sign for them. I'm aiming on making a name for myself here. It's my intention to play in the first team eventually. I want to prove myself, make a name for myself and, if I do that, my chances will come here.

I'm more excited about Besian Izrijdaz (spelling?). He looks like a really exciting player, a tall, strong, powerful forward. When i see him play for the reserves, whenever he's on the ball he's just in full control. He looks like one of our most promising reserve players. I see no reason why he shouldnt make the step up to the first team. I also tip Hammil, Anderson and maybe Guthry to step up as well, all look like lively players.

LOL! Only on the internet from the lfc.tv website. Its interesting to watch the reserves playbecause home grown talent is important. Gerrard, Mcmanaman, Fowler, Owen were from ourranks. When you look at Man Utd star players in the 90's (Scholes, Giggs, Neville, Beckham), and Arsene Wegner's young Guns that went unbeaten in 2004, or Ajax in their champions league winning season in 94/95its proof thathomegrown talent is more effective than purchasing it.

Yup
They werent just beaten to tonight they got slapped up.

McClarens tatics look worse than Keegans against Portugal when they losted from 2-0 up in the Euro Finals.

When those annoying commentators are watching African matches in the World Cup they always use the word Naive.

I would have liked to hear them use it in excess tonight to satisfiy my suspicious mind.

LOL.

As an American, even I have enough pedigree to know not to EVER put England from the start of the match in a 3-5-2. AS it produces Scooby Doo like responses like:

Ruh?

Rhee Rhour Rwo?

When I saw him saying he was going to do this I had a stupified look but did not believe him. I thought he was playing head games with the Croatian coach and players.

All of his players play in 4 back system. One pushes up the side when attacking to make it 3, so in theory it seems like 3 can play at the back but usually a midfielder is ghostly covering that spot so that the wing back can make the run.

Why in the hell did they think they could go into this team's house and put on an offensive show with Carrick on the field? Yep give em a month and they will start saying of how they miss Sven. Sven was lax but damn he was not stupid.

Still amazes me how Bent cannot get in the game before Crouch. Rooney and Bent or the little guy would cause defenses terror on their speed alone. Crouch is like marking a tree. He is taller than you but that is about it ......

THE NEXT TIME I SEE THIS EXCUSE IM GONNA THROW MY PC OUT THE WINDOW!

RAFA: WE CREATED ENOUGH CHANCES TO WIN
Steve Hunter 14 October 2006

Rafael Benitez admitted he felt a sense of frustration at not seeing his team beat Blackburn Rovers because he felt the Reds created enough chances in the second half to win the game.

The Liverpool manager felt his team were below par in the first half but added he was pleased with the second half display which saw Craig Bellamy score his first Premiership goal in a red shirt.

"We must be disappointed because we haven't won the game but I felt it was there to be won in the second half and we created enough chances to take all three points," admitted Benitez.

"We conceded a bad goal in the first half and we made a mistake when our two centre halves were in a bad position, but I was pleased with the way we responded in the second half.

"We knew it would be difficult game because Blackburn are a tough team to play against but the reaction of the players in the second half was really good.

"Bellamy has now scored his first goal in the Premiership and that will be good for his confidence."

Yeah the excuses are starting to run thin i must admit.

Saw the title go begging today, literally.

Liverpool were total shite in the first half and were lucky to get a draw as they never really looked too decisive in the 2nd half either.
