Of course the dominance is fading. It only a matter of time. How much which ones are is fading?

In soccer U.S. wasnt that good to begin with. The talent has stayed basically the same. More countries are playing basketball and football. But I see how anybody can beat the U.S. in basketball like that even though the other teams have more familiarity with themselves and are getting better. I should be the U.S. coach. The style that should be played is simple instead of trying to make political statements propoganda, etc.

I don't think the U.S. was ever dominant in sports. We were only dominant in "American" sports. But now that other folks in other countries see that they can make money playing "American" sports, that supposed dominance is going to disappear pretty quickly.

But that's only one particular area. We probably had bigger, faster athletes. But when you look at endurance, accuracy, etc., we sucked. Marathon runners were never "American". We sucked at gymnastics, wrestling, soccer, etc., etc.

And most of these sports are real sports in other countries. Americans, well. . .we always like power sports. Now that big money is in these arenas, we can expect Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia, etc. to start showing their skills in basketball, baseball, boxing, etc.

Because they are going to want it more than we do. For instance, pro basketball players in Europe can be as young as 14. They also play basketball in camps the whole year around. That's unheard of in the States. But they have families to support. It's a way for them to make income. That's not the case in the U.S. Sooner or later, they are going to start producing superior talent, hands down.

Truth - look whats happened in basketball - on the biggest stage the US has flopped. A team with Iverson, Garnett, Duncan, Wade and King James should not flop. Boxing has been a travesty - all heavy weight belts held by eastern europe - baseball already littered with south americans, cubans and even the odd east asain, Ichiro for instance. NFL recruits heavily from europe - NFL europe is almost a feeder league. Ice hockey well - Canada owns that to an extent much as I am a Colorado fan. There are a lot of eastern Europeans in that. Maybe the US should retire some of its weaker baseball players early and make them play cricket - that would be interesting seeing a converted pitcher bowling what looks like a curve ball to Kevin pietersen would be interesting
