Why not?
I've been insituations where ten or twelve consecutive kicks tomembers of adrugdealing possy would have come in handy.
Black Lion is... Agu Bu Oji in Igbo, Simba nyeusi in Swahili, the name of a hospital in Addis Adaba the capital of Ethiopia.

Because kicking high like that is frowned upon when taught to fight in life and death combat situations. WHile it may look good, what if you slip and hit the ground with that same drug posse surrounding you? Do you think they will give you time to get up?

Its all about distance and judgement. Obviously if you're surrounded you're going to be stumped better off keeping your feet and throwing punches but if you're in a pub or can back upand have a chance to narrow the on coming by getting to a door for egupper kicks tojawlines would be better, also if a person has a knife a kick is more devastating than any punch and isn't as anticipated.
Not to mention the ''BACK UP!'' effect a super knockout kick has on the morale of a drug dealing/drunkard posse in general.
Also good if a friend is in touble and you can get the jump on 3 or 4 guys... in any situation where control is on your side I'd say kicks kick ass.

Try this against a real fighter and see what happens. I mean a regual tough street fighter that can take a punch. After throwing 2-3 of these kicks on CONCRETE, let's see how many times you can get back up even if he does not lay a lick on you LOL
Besides a kick to the knee ends fights a lot faster and more brutally. LOL At that point people know you are aiming to hurt the and not look good beating them up. THis will make them think twice before fighting you, LOL.
Still if you plan on fighting with a group of drug dealers, one of your friends best have a gun...... A fair fight is only determined by the one who wins the fight.....

@Ebony, I hear you sis. I love this style of Martial Arts as well, I think it's beautifully performed and the music, so peacful and relaxing... would love to learn it someday.

LOL Looks good on TV. I know military use defensive tactics, alot of the other martial arts are more exercise oriented, but there are some tricks that work.. the ones where someone thinks their about to be kicked with on leg, but end up being kicked by the other.

Reality vs. Fantasy.
My instructor was pretty pragmatic and a comedian(Korean). He could lift his leg up to his shoulder and break a board behind him. I guess if you do that 8 hours a day it should come much easier. He taught us ways to find escape routes after stunning someone with a blow or kick that gives one time to get away.
