How bout them LSU Tigers...? -
12-11-07, 01:17 AM
The top college 1A football team in the USA is Louisiana State University (LSU) located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana just north of New Orleans.
The Tigers have three games remaining including the SEC championship game before the BCS championship game in January. They play Ole Miss next saturday and Arkansas the following week. Then who ever wins the Eastern division will meet them in the Southeastern Conference Championship game in Atlanta, Ga.
It is commonly thougth that the SEC is the toughest conference in college football. Week after week the SEC teams face the likes of Florida (last years champions), Aurburn, Tennesses (probably LSU's opponent in the SEC championship game), Georgia, Alabama and now Kentucky, South Carolina..
If LSU wins out they will likely face Oregon State in the BCS championship game in January.
Good Luck,
Geaux Tigers!!!

If only Jim Tressell would have challanged that illionis fumble OSU would still be #1, but it wasnt a bad run for a rebuilding year. I often wonder how they conclude the SEC is the toughest conference. Seems like just a bunch of mediocre teams beating each other. But anyway good luck to LSU I think theyre the second best team after Oregon.

I have to admit, I am prejudice. but if you really look the style of ball is different. the SEC is more of a smash mouth football at least the LSU's, Auburn's, the Florida's, Tennessee's, the Alabama's on a good day and Mississippi State now and South Carolina's.
From top to bottom the SEC will skin up woosy teams.
We had a good example last year with Florida and Ohio St. The SEC won most of it's bowl appearences.
I hope Oregon gets there. Remember what a pretty good LSU team did to Oklahoma. The SEC championship game between LSU and Tenn. will be more entertaining that the big bowl except for hype. Tenn could easily beat LSU.

I try to stay out of the conference fueds because in reality thier meaningless. The only way to really know whos the best is by who wins it all. SEC gets alot of favorable coverage these days, I havent drunk the kool-aid on how tough it is..at least yet. Florida beat OSU but they still lost the majority of head to head games against the Big Ten last year. Including Wisconson shuting out last years SEC champions. I will say this year SEC and Pac-10 looks tough but until they get a playoff system we'll never know.

like you impact i won't argue the facts because i don't know them all and like i said in the beginning i am prejudice in favor of the SEC.
No way to really tell, anyone game can go either direction depending upon injuries, weather, crowd etc.
good luck

Yep how bout dem Tiger (bandwagon riders) LOL
Arkansas 50
LSU 48
When the RB hiked the ball to himself and everyone in the stadium KNEW he was going to keep and run the ball and you guys STILL could not stop him on a telegraphed play LOL
Yep how bout dem Tigers.....
Seriously I want to see Hawaii's spread O against one of the top teams.
I love SEC ball and LSU has been good when they are on, BUT the most important thing this year is that Ohio State and Michigan are not in the running....... yep life is good LOL

yep miles had a 'whip' and did not have them ready for a game. with arkanansas year in year out they play LSU tough regardless of the record. i have watched them all year and it was shear athletic ability that got them through game after tight game.
those forth downs plays never should have happened back in the season. he has too much fire power to have lost two games. michigan won't be gaining anyhing with miles.
yep it is wide open now. ohio st will be suspect until they play and beat either USC or a good SEC team. Florida exposed their caliber of football last year.
if LSU gets a coach before recruitment falls off they will be fine. they are still stacked at least two deep in most positions.

hopefully we will have a healthy dorsey back.
coaching is my worry. trussel definately is a better coach than miles. i was hoping that michigan would have gotten him. He does so little with so much.
Good luck!!

Ohio State had me worried when you look at their numbers and what the did initially with the help of LSU.
LSU's defensive decline as the season went on was a direct result of the SEC offenses; Kentucky, Florida, Arkansas etc.
Bar none in American college football the SEC is the toughest conference year in year out.

Too many mistakes, and too many bad breaks..
I dont believe one particular conference is always the toughest but I conceed that the SEC is the toughest conference this year, and last year for that matter..Big Ten used to be the power conference for decades and I think people up here cant accept that it has shifted to the SEC and thier fooling themselves..I try to stay out of the conference debates because its really meaningless. Its the teams that matter..Michigan was very impressive against Florida..LSU was very impressive against OSU..Its a different team every week..
