Default Watford's Al Bangura to be deported - 11-12-07, 07:32 PM

Bangura
Who came to England four years ago from Sierra Leone, learnt of the decision by the Asylum and Immigration Authorities yesterday afternoon and is now facing the prosp
ect of a mandatory return to Africa.
Alhassan Bangura of Watford
Devastated: Watford midfielder Alhassan Bangura will be forced to leave the UK for Sierra Leone

( A PLUS SIGN ) However, Watford will launch an immediate appeal in an attempt to overturn the decision.

"This is terrible news for Al and a big shock to everyone at Watford FC. We are very sad and disappointed that he has not been granted leave to remain in the UK," said Iain Moody, Head of Football Operations at the club.

"This is a significant setback for Al and his family but we will continue to fight this case and have full confidence that common sense and justice will prevail and that Al will be allowed to continue life in this country.

"We have been very fortunate that we have been able to count on the support of Watford MP, Claire Ward, in making representations to the Home Office on Al's behalf and we look forward to continue working together with her on this."

Bangura, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, played a prominent role in Watford's promotion to the Premier League in 2006 and is considered by many to be one of the best box-to-box midfielders outside the top division.

***The midfielder, 19, became a father for the first time just nine days ago.***

Makes you laugh doesn't it. There are a lot of Eastern Europeans in this country illegally living off the state and who has/will not do a day's work in their life, yet they are allowed to stay. Those you appeal has a waiting period of 3 years and during this time they are treated better than most citizen. Yet, someone whose life is in danger and who is paying taxes is being forced to leave the country. It makes you wonder what are going through these fools' minds.

I'm back and ready to attack.

Lets not forget some of those Eastern European rapists and criminals who are freely let into the country...anyways there might be a slight respite with him getting a work permit unfortunately Sierra Leaone are not in the top 70 of footballing nations which happens to be a pre-requisite

one will need a bigger lie to cover the first one

I heard it asw ell. However the Work Permit will only be for a limited period of time.

It can last for anytime between 2 -5 years.

I thought this decision was perverse imagine the deported a dying woman back to Ghana to die without treatement, but allowed a footballer to stay to play a game..something is not right imo...
