Giants spoil Patriots perfect season? -
29-12-07, 07:27 PM
The Giants play New England Patriots today in the final game of the regular season for both teams...
Pats are 15-0....looking to be only the second team to go undefeated in the regular season...nd the first to go 16-0(regular season was 12 and then 14 games in the past).
Can the Giants spoil the party?
We'll see!!!!!!!

@ D to da J
The Giants probably are the only team that had a realistic chance of knocking them off. The Patriots old defense did not want anymore of Jacobs. If this was cold weather, I would say NYG. Now it is a toss up. The Giants have nothing to lose.
The Pats are hard to stop offensively because they have weapons at the skilled positions to spare. NYG has to score which they proved they can.
Still football fans have you noticed how well Eli has played since Shockey got hurt and Plax & Jacobs came back? I think Shockey is gone if he cannot subdue himself to Eli being the team leader. Shockey may have been disruptive to Eli's mild nature?
It should be the most entertaining final game we have had in a while.
Who do you cheer for as Morpheus said? The Undefeated or the Underdog?
IF Eli wins you know Archie will be proud to have his two boys get rings back to back?

Forgot to mention this but a historic fact for this game is that we have the first AA head official of a Super Bowl/NFL Championship game.
Mike is a great ref who deserves this.
Also that a London born Nigerian plays for the Giants in Osi Umenyiora (and he actually stayed in Nigeria for a while)
AND
Ugandan Mathias Kiwanuka grandson of the murdered Benedicto Kiwanuka first Prime Minister of Uganda ( as well as heavily being involved in the transition of Uganda from British rule and murdered by Idi Amin)
Just to let you guys in on some NFL knowledge

This was the most interesting/competitive Superbowl I ever remember watching. The Black ref did an excellent job of officiating. Eventhough the Giants knocked my beloved Cowboys out of it, I was rooting for them. They played like they wanted to win from the 2nd half of the season, onward. Nothing to do but respect it. The underdog role suits them.

good info..
Giants played in England last season.....so I thought there would be more interest on this board about the Superbowl......but soccer is king I guess.
I knew Matthias was from Uganda but didn't know his family's history

Coward ass Tiki Barber needs to crawl under a rock......
He retired and then tried to call out Eli Manning...
I can't WAIT for the press to shove a camera in his face and ask him questions..

Great game. Now the Pats must deal with "Spygate".
As for interest our brand of football has limited appeal.Almost like a cricket match being held in alabama during the SEC title game.

I was thinking the same thing, but you know what else? I wonder what happens to Shockey? I mean the team seemed to accept Eli's leadership after Shockey went down and they seemed to click more. Do you think the loud mouthed ball player will be back especially when they won the Super Bowl without him?
Even better question, how does NYC feel because they were throwing Eli under the bus all season long especially after the season opening loss to Dallas and they looked in danger of not making the playoffs? Now the quiet kid leads them to the championships and comes through in the clutch.
I guess this solidifies the draft trade for him by NYC, but what about the fair weather NYC media?
Remember this?
Giants GM Jerry Reese calls Eli Manning 'skittish' as critics pile on
He is a better man than me because I would have stood up and brought Jill Scott out to do a video about the Haters showing Tiki, Tom Coughlin, Boomer, and the Giants GM for doubting me......

Safety,,
Shockey is another loudmouth...both he and Tiki made comments last year about the team being "outcoached"...
Both of them are great and talented players, but locker room morale is important...and sometimes you add by subtrracting .
Eli gets the last laugh. People don't take these sports commentators seriously.I hear better analysis from guys who watch the games. the radio, newspaper, and tv guys have to find something to talk about so they just ramble on like gossiping idiots.
They resent being young, rich and in shape so they hate on these athletes like it's going out of style. Normally it's a Black athlete.
NFL network is making the other outlets irrelevant....they keep the focus on the game and real analysis.....

Yeah at least on the NFL network they will let a brother be a brother. Tiki is the second coming of OJ in my opinion. Heck he even distances himself from Ronde his twin because Ronde is too black acting LOL
