Anyone staying or getting up for the(F1) Malaysian Grand Prix?? -

Well my sad ass is,i'll be glad when these stupid o'clock races are done and I can watch them at a civilized hour, but I have a thing about watching all races live,so i'm either gonna stay up til 6 or go to bed now have a few hours kip then get up.
Anyway it looks to be an interesting season what with all the new rules,no traction control etc..the drivers are having to actually drive their cars and this of course has the potential for huuuuuuuuuuge calamities.
Only 7 drivers managed to finish the Australian one last week.
I aint asking for nothing, just open the door and i\'ll take it myself-James Brown.

Saying that, I heard a rumour that the grand prix is returning to the BBC - I remember how everyone said it wouldn't work on ITV because it meant breaking up a non-stop race with adverts which kind of defeated the object i.e. imaging breaking a football match before half time for commercials, man it's amazing what you get used to. Always been a Ferrari man myself. Oops Massa's just beached!

JB - It just seem to finish quite quick, maybe I must have been having fun on the forum which made time go faster.
You're right about boring though, so far the start to this season seems like there's a missing component, maybe still got last season too fresh in the mind....I suppose Lewis is no longer a rookie either.
What do you think about Ferrari winning last season, I think the scandal of Mclaren stealing Ferrari notes went a lot deeper than they try to make out in that Mclaren could not afford to win. If Lewis didn't win then it was Alonso's title for the taking and to believe they both messed up and let kimi in is too much of a coincidence for me. Think maybe this has my paranoia going a bit as well contributing to my perception of boring.

Well the first race of the season last week was off the hook, which is why I was looking forward to some decent action this week, but it was a bit anti-climatic as Ferrari's cars have been so dominant all weekend.
As for the Ferrari/McClaren "fisticuff" last season, well that whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth,F1 is one of the most corrupt, grimy sports in existance and there is sooooooooo much which goes on behind the scenes which we are never privvy to.
If I really stopped to think about how awful it all is I would never watch, however I just block it out and enjoy the beauty of the cars, driver technique and pit-stops.
I would recommend a book called The Pitts..by Beverly Turner for some insight into the murkiest aspects of F1.
Remember Beverly Turner from back in the day?? she was the pretty brunette reporter who kinda did the same thing Louise Goodman does now, anyway she left and the book will give you the reasons why.

JB - that's probably a bit too deep for me, guess I kind of take it for granted some underhand business is always going on. That Beverly Turner, hmm, looks like I missed her, don't really see the women with all those mechanical horses on parade, ok, maybe the scantily clad models that for some weird reason seem to go hand in hand with the sport.
It would have been good seeing Hamilton up against Schumacher but this season will have to grow on me I think.
