The Premier League will allow Paul Ince to become Blackburn boss | The Sun |HomePage|Sport|Football

PAUL INCE has won Premier League backing to become Blackburn’s new boss this weekend.

Ince, 40, who led MK Dons to last season’s League Two title, emerged as Rovers’ first choice to succeed Mark Hughes earlier in the week.

A question-mark hung over his appointment, though, because of his lack of coaching badges — especially the UEFA Pro Licence.

But the Premier League board last night gave permission for him to take the Ewood Park job — providing he earns the necessary qualifications within two years.

It means Ince will become the first black Briton to take charge of a top-flight team.

Danish legend Michael Laudrup was the other name in the frame, after Steve McClaren and Sam Allardyce pulled out.

McClaren and Big Sam were both believed to be unhappy at missing out to someone yet to gain any of the necessary qualifications.

Dons striker Kevin Gallen reckons the ex-England midfielder can be a big success.

The ex-QPR star said: “I’ve been very impressed with Paul.

“The biggest thing is he has the respect of the players for what he achieved in his career.

“He always demands 100 per cent from his squad. If he doesn’t get it, that’s when you see him get angry.”

Ince’s first jobs will be to try to convince England ace David Bentley to stay at the club and also keep striker Roque Santa Cruz.

Gwarnnn Incey.....

Harry Redknapp is a smart manager. Hes just buying up all of the quality out of favour players then reserrects their careers. Hes looking Crouch, (wont bugde on 8 million but Liverpool want £10) and now Shaun Wright Phillips, they will bid £10 mill for soon. Lassana Diarra is not leaving Portsmouth, he has stated he would only leave if one of these four teams came in and they are: Man United, Chelsea, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. (geezer lives on planet dreamon...lol) He has also refused to sign for any Italian team due to the history of racism in Serie A....Respect dat though.

Ronaldo to Madrid for Robinho/Sneijder and £50 million cash (Sneijder the more likely option as Robinho would prefer to come to Chelsea)
Man United will also join the Hunt for David Bentley and K. J Huntelaar and look likely to sign both with the cash from the Ronaldo deal.

Toulanlan will sign for Arsenal in the next two weeks.

Engelaar is being watched by several top Premiership clubs after an impressive Euro 2008

also Celtic to get Harry Kewell on a free transfer from Liverpool...Thank-God. I think we're still knocking Celtic even though hes free...lol

Romours for the big 4.

Man United:
IN– Berbatov £28 mill
A right back either Philip Lahm or Richards. £11 mill/£24 million.
Quaresma £18 million.

OUT–Darren Fletcher £4 million.
Ji Sung–Park £7 million.
Dong £2.8 mill
Ronaldo will not be leaving.

Chelsea:
IN– Jose Boswinga £16.2 million (Done deal).
Deco £12 million.
And a forward I do not know who yet. (Not David Villa).

OUT–Drogba £21 mill
Lampard £18 mill
Sidwell £5 mill
SWP £8 mill

Arsenal:
IN– Samir Nasri £11.9 million (Done Deal).
Aaron Ramsey £5 million (Done Deal).
Zapata £12 million
Roque Santa Cruz/Podolski £14 mill/£16 mill

OUT– Eboue £7.5 mill
Flamini Free (Done Deal)
Hleb £16 mill
Adebayor £24 mill
Lehmann Free (Done Deal)

Liverpool:
IN– Barry £18 mill
Waybe Bridge/Dossena £6 mill/£7 mill
David Villa £22 mill
Silva £17 mill
Degen Free (Done Deal)

OUT– Riise £4 million (Done Deal)
Voronin £3 mill
Itandje £1.5 mill
Carson £8 mill
Pennant £4 mill
Crouch £10 mill

I don't see Micah Richards playing for United. You forget, Man City is a newly rich club suddenly awash with money and they seem to have building plans. I don't see them selling anytime soon. Also most people don't like Wes but he was very good at rightback the whole of last season.

Man U won't want Robinho because in Tevez and Rooney he'll just be too small and too similar. We want a big tall center forward who won't break like Saha all the time but will stand up and score lots of goals. Huntelaar may be overrated but Berbatov will do.

If Toulolan does sign for Arsenal then that will be a massive boost for them. He's better than Flamini imo, and will make their mid very solid. Wenger knows what he's doing there.

Hey how come no Arshavin rumours? The way he's playing I'd expect him to be linked to everyone by now....

BTW Le Moor, Ronaldo IS leaving. Once he said it then so it is. Despite the bluster Fergie knows full well he won't put a silly money asset like that to rot in the stands. Besides, the length of the saga is probably damagin morale. Better to be done with it now. But I think all we've done so far, is play hardball and talk up his price. Think of a bazaar or streetmarket.

"I couldn't sell that item, it's priceless"
"well how about this much?"
"nah we ain't aving it"
"How about THIS much then?"

and so on. Real Madrid don't seem to be very good at playing the game. Telling somebody you're bargaining with that you'll pay "whatever price" from the get go is not very clever. He'll go and he'll go for silly money we don't exactly need but will take with pleasure anyway.

Surprising to see Ince get the bligh without the credentials, he must have really proven himself to be one of them

But seriously wish him well. John Barnes had a stint up in Celtic which I thought may be the beginning so this has been long in coming and Ince has paid his dues with the Dons.

What do you mean what credentials? He just won a double!

Anybody ask about Roy Keane's credentials? Or Steve Bruce? Or Bryan Robson? Those guys as players walked out of Man United and into good manager jobs. Keane even got his because the chairman (Quinn) is a former national teammate and pal.

Fugg me Vialli was a player manager of Chelsea! Nobody moaned then.

Ince will do well.

True. I think that Ronaldo is gone, BUT with that money on the sale alone, it will allow Man Utd to go after some solid attacking players.

Selling Ronaldo, allows you a shot at getting the services of.....Adebayor, Eto'o or even big perm himself.

Real will pay a ridiculous amount of money to be entertained by Ronaldo and I think that Man U will profit off of this move for years to come.

I honestly think they will contest for the champions league this year IF THEY FIND QUALITY/STEADY defenders who are not often injured.

Oh Modric will adopt alright. He spent his formative football years being kicked and punched in Bosnia league which you can imagine wasnt one for the faint hearted. So he's tough enough. Did you see how he ran the show against Turkey and Germany. genuine class and Im afriad that Man U will snap him up at the end of the season because the guy probably on eof the best creative midfielders in the world right now. Forget Deco and the rest.

Yep agree with the defender scenario. Been saying we need two quality centre backs as Ledley is shot/ and Woodgate has a suspect history.

BTW whats happening with Arsenal. Half your team gone.. people leaving the ship like deserting rats...have the young players finally lost faith with the Wenger philosophy..

I saw the Dons Chairman on Skysports here and he seemed pleased.Ince got them to the next level.

What is the Rovers leadership situation? Are expectation Top Ten ? or higher?

I think he'll do well

He won a championship with MK Dons but player haters are talking about how big his budget was in comparsion to the other teams. However, I dont recalll Keane getting the same heat when he won the Championship with a biggger budget than anyone else

Dude actually started from the absolute bottom. Took over Macclesfield when tehy were 8 points from safety in League 2 and saved them, yet still some Macc suporters dont want to show him love. Apparently they scarped surivavl by their fingertips. Anyone who plays Champ knows you survive or you don't. No issues about fingertips or what not

He is gonna be big and they offcially my third team now

I think Alex Ferguson is playing shrewd and will have no qualms in selling Ronaldo for the right money, a player can get injured and be out for a whole season, you can do much more with 80 million than you can with tieing your hopes on silverware to one player.
