I live int he Kings Halls in Great Dover Street in Borough. They are good halls when u compare them to the others in London. All the rooms are en-suite! Also they are v well located Borough is a really nice place lots going on and a great market. Also the transport links to the campus are easy and quick. Stamford street apartments also v nice.

the loan won't be enough, though it depends on how much tuition fees you are paying and how much loan you get. the year will probably cost you about 8k.
what course are you doing?

If you get the max loan, plus no fees, and an overdraft; you should be ok. Though it depends how social you are. Clubbing in London aint cheap! I lived on the guys campus last year, although im taught at strand and waterloo (comp sci). The guys campus doesnt have sport facilities as far as i know.....the kings college gym is at waterloo (stamford st appts). I don't use it so can't comment.

As you probably noticed when u visited, the two main dominant racial groups are the asians and whites. They pretty much keep themselves to themselves, and are quite segregated. The asians can get rowdy at times.....never make the mistake of going to fuse on a thursday night........anyway, there are not many blacks, but of the ones there, they are female and mainly african. The majority are very studious and partake in no hanky-panky.

The gym at the Stamford Street apartments is very well equipped. They have everything you could need and the staff are very helpful. It is also reasonable to join when you become a member of the union.
It is true that clubbing in London isnt cheap but there are decent student nights at most clubs if thats what u like. However, as a girl it is much easier to have a cheaper night out! ;-) The best thign to do is to make friends and contacts with the various promoters who can get you into all the best places for free!
Sure you will love Kings. I dont totally agree with the last posters view about how segregated the university is. I think it depends who you make friends with. I do agree that it is best not to go to fuse on a thursday though!

i put down wolfson house as my 1st choice, and then dover street as second. are they ok places? wolfson house was cheaperand id rather be living where there are less people. i need my own space. and it was closest to campus. it looked abit shit and run down from the outside but i guess a bed is just a bed.
im planning not to blow all my money on going out, but i doubt thats going to happen. fuse is the thing that happens once a month in that bar downstairs? i got invited to that but never went to it.
anyways, to be realistici think i will need a job to have a good time without going under

Great Dover street is full of pakis and its boring as hell and expensive (£1,500 a term, its more than a f-in mortgage). Borough is a sh*t area, i dunno if u guys r from london, but im from london and i can tell u borough is sh*t compared to other places.
I have yet to see ONE buff girl walking down great dover street, the only people u c r students. GDS is segregated, as in, its hard to meet people cos everyone is in a flat and seperated, so the only people u meet immediately are the people in ur flat.
And all thse f-in pakis think they are black, callin me blud, im not ur blood so dont talk to me.
i hate to sound negative, but kings is a good uni, just dont waste ur money on great dover. i regret it.
