Well actually according to everybody I should look for the worse in going to college. I haven't really heard anything good from people who have graduated or who have attended college. I just wish for once I would hear something nice so I won't be so damn paranoid and depressed about going.
You could probably have a lot of fun where ever you go, but of course that is dangerous. I once read a statistic claiming that only 11% of African-Americans who enter college actually finish in 4-5 years. I can say thatonly a few of my friends actually graduatedthat started with me. Most dropped outdue topoor academic performance, lack of finances, or both.

As long as you stay focused, you will do fine. As you probably already know, there are many things that can be distracting including sex, drugs, alcohol, parties, stress, and a combination of them all. Ironically, at the same time it can be perhaps the most enjoyable and free time of your life. I did things in college that I would never do now. I look back on college and smile at the fun I had, as well as appreciate the stresses I had because they made me into the man I am today.

Well I have heard nothing, but the bad, the ugly and the depressing, so I don't really know any "good" things about college.

Are you fresh out of high school? Are you going away to live in the dorms and all?

Everyone's college experience is different, where you can make it into almost anything. You have so much liberty that it can be scary at times. The reason is because many of your decisions made then will effect the rest of your life. However, at the same time you will have opportunities to do things most never do again. That's the thing about college. It is fun, stressful, scary, and adventurous all at the same time. Sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming, which is why you may here mostly the "bad" about college. Given the almost countless directions you can go in college, it is hard to tell you what to expect other than have fun, but not too much fun so that you stay focused on your work.
