What is peace?

peace is not the absence of chaos, but the ability to be at peace in the midst of chaos.

It seems to me that "peace" is satisfaction with the state of one's existence, or the sense of being safe from injustice and lack.

very depressing mike. this is why your peace must never depend upon anything outside of yourself. but you are correct that it will be impossible to remain in a state of peace very long in the kind of world we live in.

A big problem is that peace is not appreciated by us commoners because we rarely realise or obtain it. And those who have substance think that they have it within their ivory towers.

Upon reflection of this statement, I think your premises went left when said balance=conformity. If every conforms to a particular ideal or agenda, then realization of other ideals are intrinsically imbalanced.

I think it is more realistic to say, looking at the historical record, that balance=nonconformity. However, Indo-Europeans (in the name of Christianity, Islam, Hebrewism, Hinduism, etc.) have offset the balance on Earth in their attempts to make everyone else conform to their maladapted slave psyches.

Therefore, I believe the chain goes more like this:

Peace -> Harmony -> Balance -> Tolerant Nonconformity -> Never gonna happen...as long as there are Indo-European dominant cultures, or dominant cultures with proponents of Abrahamic religion

so we can assume by your trailer that indo european DOMINATE CULTURE W/ABRAHAMIC RELIGIONS are the sole cause is very suspect shemsi. are you gonna say that the trouble with Africa and no peace there is all due soley to these factors you mention.

Tell me shemsi what harmony, balance and tolerant noncomformity has to do with peace.....does peace inolve another? or is it a self inflicted climate....

The evidence is irrefutable. There is a 6,000-year historical record of Indo-Europeans interacting with "Blacks" in both Asia and Africa to testify to the fact that ALL of the world's strife is due to them and the maladapted ideologies (i.e. religion, political oppression, etc.) that is ingrained in their cultural fabric.

LOL...actually I am at peace right now. When I was speaking of peace, I was speaking in terms of the world. The world will never know peace as long as those proponents exist in their present dominant forms. That is my only point. I am not insecure about who and what I am, and I am quite comfortable and content spiritually. I have alot more peace than most Christians and Muslims I know, that's for sure.

i did not mean to get into the personal aspect of it but i guess really it can be no other way. your personal peace is not known to me or can be. nor mine to you. world peace involves yours and mine and about 6 billion others. there are too many factors that determine the mindset of others which i believe is essential to peace.

it is not a religious thing shemsi. no amount of money can bring true peace. no thickness of walls can, no amount of weapon or caliber, not even the largest standing army, nor the most technically advanced military, not even the most advanced degree of martial arts, true peace goes beyond all those factors shemsi...

There is a peace from within that is comfort and contentment. and then there is the peace with others, be it friends, family, enemy, strangers etc. if the first can not be attained then the second is counterfeit.
