THEORY OF EVOLUTION

I always existed,
no beginning, no end
That crazy old man Darwin
had it azz backwards, my friend
See, the one became two
pure energy became matter
and then there were three
as more atoms were shattered
The 1 was me
and the 2 was called woman
On the day we took form,
in the sky was an omen
Together we journeyed
to the physical plane
never to go home
until we became one again
From God to man
a devolution no doubt
which makes more sense than monkeys
building pyramids, formulating thought

The 3 was my offspring
more man than God
and the 4 was my brother
who thirsted for my blood
He was formed from fire
and I from brown earth
So he thought himself higher
and more worthy of my wife
Their offspring and mine
intermingled and mixed
good vs. evil,
both mutable and fixed
freedom fighters and slave raiders
abolitionists and “negro traders”
street soldiers and fake gangstas
peace lovers and war instigators

Through many lives I’ve come
I am my ancestors again
more matter than spirit now,
clash of forces without, within
Mostly forgotten are my roots,
but as I learn, I remember
why the whole world hates me
without ever knowing me
not just southern rednecks
but those who look just like me
the receptionist sistah who turns cold at the sight of me
total strangers try to hide their obvious fright of me
Five hundred years of history on their faces
an undeclared war between the races
But then I remember and it’s rather amusing
It’s not me they hate, now it’s less bemusing
They hate the God in me,
it’s not really that confusing

That crazy old white man was partly right
some did derive from monkeys
like monkey azz white trash
with the IQ of a donkey
and chimp azz ghetto “thugs”
****in clowns
Loud, aggressive, cowardly slugs
I can’t stand to be around
Government snitches
fake thugs turned prison bitches
I hate you more than I hate the overseer
because you’re supposed to be my brother
and you, Bensonhurst and Howard Beach
How the **** you superior?
Can you even spell superior?
Listen to this lesson I teach
if your dumb azz mind can even reach
the heights of my understanding
there’s no such thing as “race,” dumb azz
and you weren’t on the Pilgrim Landing
crooked cops
self righteous judges
bearing five hundred years of grudges
COs and POs,
Confederate flags and political azzholes
How human can you be
if your sense of humanity
depends on dehumanizing me?
An impossible task
you already know
ain’t afraid of hell
I ain’t from there
That’s your home where you scared to go
My home is Heaven
your world is my hell
and the challenge for me
is to know myself
So **** the Klan
**** the chimp azz ni66az
monkey azz ni66az
life scares me more than death
so now what?

I am lightning
Thunder
kill me, I live again
bring it to your punk azz again
zombie your stupid azz again and again
murder your evil soul again and again
send you back to hell where you came from
and don’t let me hear drums
then I’m really going in
hurricane winds blowing in
street soldier formation
ancient warrior organization
on my chest a royal inscription
Papa Shango incarnation
life, death and resurrection
and before I close this instruction
may I recite this incantation
let now thy servant depart in peace
according to thy word
Ain’t afraid of your murderous police
original bad azz ni66a, you heard?

I stumbled upon this, not really sure how, but I was so struck by it that I took to the time to register and post a comment - not something I normally do. I'm not sure if this is meant as lyrics, poem, slam or what, but whoever authored it is incredibly talented. I could do without the N word though. If this were put to music, say as a rap song or something similar, I probably wouldn't listen to it because 1) that's not the type of music I like and 2) I generally can't understand the lyrics. But if I heard this read to a group - saw it printed - or got it in an email - it would make me stop in my tracks.

I hope that whoever wrote this pursues their creative talent and continues to write. It's unfortunate that the talent is stirred by such negative issues, but those issues are real - and I think the only way to make things better is through education and communication. So keep writing...your insight is amazing and incredibly moving.

Good luck and thanks for sharing. Glad I stumbled onto it. I'm an official BN Village member now!

Thank u and welcome to the Village.

My bad about the N word. Sometimes, no other word will do, especially in poetry or spoken word.
