What black folk need.... -
20-03-08, 01:43 AM
and what we don't need mo' of....
a lot less talk from those who are supposed to be in the know and a lot more doing by them.
We still have the crowd stirrers who can lather the crowd up, but then what?
We have to go back to work and the stirrer goes where.....
what is the 'black intelligencia' doing except smoking cigarettes, sipping wine and hoping to sell a book....
It is still just like Marvin Gaye said it was on the album "What's Going On?"
big shots talkin shyt, lookin down their noses drivin benz's up to the gates...
blamin the white man for crack....
shyt if the white man really wanted to kill us they just have to drop off boxes of seemingly sterile needles 'sugar coated', a free pound or two of crack strategically dropped off and every week or two a few dozen guns and plenty of ammo....
the biggest thing black people need is togetherness or unity. there is not a more jealous people on the face of the earth than the majority of black people.
white men will unite with his white enemy to deal with their enemy...not so with black people...we will often time side with the enemy just to cut down one of our own who is successful because of jealousy.
whites have little to do with keeping blacks down, we do a very good job of it ourselves unfortunately

when ever someone talks about black people they usually mean a diverse community of people with so much diference it's more easy to describe what seperates us than it is to unite us . the truth of the matter is the only thing that trully united us was overt suppression and racism , now that aparteid is a thing of the past and segragation is offically gone their is no great uniter...

You are right mike in so many aspects about the diversity of our people. It has always been so mike. I am 58 years old and it was so during the 50s, 60s, 70s and so on. we are easlily shattered and splintered.
the divisions can be narrowed down also, but i usually notice that in these days the loudest of our protestors are usually the least active when it comes to "rubber meets the road" stuff.
I know that i am an ignorant man who has an opinion and much of academia on here tells me that i am under the white man's spell. now that would not be so bad but I know for sure without any doubt where and whose i am. so with that being said i am sorely suspect of much of what is displayed as those who know on here. I don't want to tear them down, but man how can you get black people ready for what is to come by being a part of the problem rather than part of the solution, especially if you think yourself a part of the elite.
Mike i have learned to contend myself and be mildly amused as what I see when we are called together any more. white people during slavery did not treat us as badly as some of us who think of ourselves more highly than we ought to treat some of us who are "the lesser".

you have a good point, for a moment I’d considered doing a thread titled, 'if there were no slavery' mostly about how the lives of African Americans, and as an indirect consequence, brit afro-carribs, would have probably of been worse off a result

a better thread my by "how do people 'become' slaves?
by force, by choice, inherited...i heard a woman who escaped from the morman cult speaking about the one that was just raided in Texas. She said that these womens' grandmothers were in it, their mothers and aunts and this is all they have seen and heard. They were slaves by inheritance and basically sex slaves at that.
