Question
Why are under 18's so concerned with relationships? - 01-11-08, 07:33 PM

I couldn't help but notice that most of the threads in this part of the forum are about peoples relationships or sex lives or teenage pregnancy but I just don't understand why. Some body help me out here because it looks like people are focusing on the wrong things. It's no wonder Britain has one of the highest if not THE highest teen pregnancy rate in Europe(not saying that everyone who posts on here is from Britain). We focus too much on how to please our other halves or if we are in 'love' than we focus on our futures.

Some one enlighten me.

I think its the fact that there is a lot of conditioning on TV. ?Have you seen hollyoaks on TV on an early sunday morning?

I don't really watch Hollyoaks much but I guess TV conditioning could be one of the many answers to my question. I think it's also the fact that we're tought to have girl/boyfriends while we are young to gain 'experience' for later on in life.

At a time when black people need each other the most we are killing each other. Let's forget about the postcode wars or what the next man said about you. Why can't we wise up and stick together?

One word, HORMONES!
That the only serious explanation, but yes as Brother Mike mentioned T.V these days have a great influence.

Keys- When do you think it is the right age to be concerned about relationships?

Well Yes I Agree With Someone That Said Hormones Which Is Understandable But That Dont Mean Havin Man Or Girl Every Minute. I Know Some Young People That Dont Have Relationships Etc And Are Able To Surpress Their Feelings, So It CAN Be Done If They Really Want To. I tHink What Topic Writer Is Tryna Say Is What Happened To Placing EDUCATION At The Top Of Their Priorities?? Education Is Extremley Important If Ur Gona Get ANYWHERE In Life. They Have Their WHOLE Adult Life To Be An Adult, Enjoy Their Youth Instead of Growing Up Too Quick And Havin Partner Worries............Sex Can Wait. I Sure As Hell Wouldnt Want My Kids Ignoring Their Education For 'Relationships' That Arent Even The Real Deal Anyway Its Just SEX!!!!!!!!
