With the N word a lot of black people do use it when regarding each other and friends as they have taken on the word as empowering black people as if it does not affect us any more, we have risen above it and it can't hurt us. Which is bull coz u wouldn't get vex if another race called u that, if u have been empowered bu it.But I think i mentioned this in another post that u can only be a ****** in a white mans country where u are the minority, Go to Africa where u are among ur people and call each other that word in ur native language, it don't happen.****** is a white man word which ispartof a white man languagein a white man country - so we use it to each other because we have embraced their language and parts of their ignorance. I don't see the sense in that, who has seen that film Black and White when the group of rich white young people who were enticed by black culture was talking saying stupidness like ****** is racist but Niggaz is not its just a term youth use like "Wassup my Niggaz" that had to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

If u forget all the racial connotation with the word ****** and look at its meanings u are basically dissing ur friend every time u use it saying he is useless, ignorant, worthless, nothing, inferioretc etc. Also if u are black and have white friends and u call each other that word let me ask u a question what if u were having a heated argument and he called u a nigga what would u do? Coz i'm a firm believer when u are angry u say what u mean or what about if he was having an argument with another black person outside your group and hecalled him a nigga would u stick up for ur white friend or join in on the beat down. If u check pakistanis they don't call each other pakis even though they are that word, Pakistan means land of the paki, yet coz that word is deemed derogatory and they don't see it as an empowerment of their people by openly using it to one another.

To be perfectly honest I have no problem with the use of the word (Ido notuse it personally)because it is just that a word but I have a problem with people saying we are reclaiming it (it was never ours in the first place)- that is bull coz if u as a black person are gonna reclaim anything it should be your African heritage and language not what white people have subjected us to and humiliated us with for centuries.

@sugawooga u say it doesn't have any power over us anymore, it never ever didthat word did not cause slavery, ****** wasn't always a derogatory term, the white race did all that but used the word to further humiliate us, put us down, make us feel more inferior. White people must be laughing at us, for us to be tormented with that word for centuries and then when our oppression has lessened and we fought years just to gain certain rights we call each other that and disrespect what our ancestors have gone through. MLK would be turning in his grave.

@gazell the word may be used more and more by youths but there will never be a time when u can go to a black man u don't know and say "what up my ******" and not face ramifications.

I'm Black and I don't use the N word but I can understand where the guy is comming from. If your surrounded by black friends who use the N word obviously u are going to think it is perfectly acceptable to use it. I think that if us a s a black race stop using it to descibe ourselves than whte people would relaize that it is not fine to use it. We need to look at the words we use to descibe our race before judging udas.
