I want to hear what the young people have to say about certain things.
I'm listening to Lethal B's Forward Riddim and towards the end I'm hearing some crazzed MC:
'You gotta gun so shot it'
'What you waiting for youth, shout it'
'Do I need to show you how to hold the gun, shot it'
'Shot it, shot it, shot it'
'2-2 shot it'
'8 mil shot it'
'9 mil shot it'
'Mack 10 shot it'
'Mack 11 shot it'
In general when I'm listening to Grime/Garage (whichever it's called)I am thinking to myself: why are you using the power of your God given talent to promote negativity ?
What do you think of the lyrics that these MCs push out ? Things is I know it does strick a tune and affect the young minds that listen, no doubt. Sad thing is that a small number take them as reality.
But mostly how can you feel 'good', how can anything 'good' come out of lyrics like the type above that are pushed out. If someone's gonna say its a reflection of life then do you look in the mirror, recognise that things don't look good, leave it as it is in its 'bad' state and revel in it going around not feeling good about yourself or instead seek to change it ?

When I heard that bit of the song, to be honest with u I didnt take it as nothing I thought it was dumb but then the other lyrics like: "U dont wanna bring armshouse ill bring armshouse to your mums house" are just as silly.
I have spread my dreams beneath your feet. Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Nah garage/Grime wont Die out.
The lyrics maybe crap but you can say the same for somerappers/dancehall stars and rnb. If the songs got a Good beat some people tend to listen to the beat more then the lyrics.

Making a "good" beat with nonsensical lyrics is truly laughable, especially the "senseless riddim" by lethal bizzle. What do you understand out of "pow" and "ooooooon" as if this is some remake of the mortal kombat theme song.Fourtunately Even dizzie rascal has turned away from the scene Grime will soon die, and i also look forward to that day. BRAAAAAP

It's amazing what I hear when I happen to pass some pirate radio stations. It seems every single line is about gun or sex. I think it's shortsightedness again.

(n yes i kno SOME kids mite b influenced by this but your talkin about a very small minority who r proberbly on the verge of gettin one n e way !)

Lethal B got plaaaayed out like...I don't know what. There was a time when everyone used to get hyped up when they heard it..but now...it's gettinthe MUTE treatment. I think those lyrics were put there to add to the overall "Hype Hype" feeling of the song. The way they were saying "Shoot It!" I think was just a way to get the listeners to get excited and "singalong" lolol, cause at clubs/raves or whatever when that part came up...EVERYONE lol would MC along with it. However...I think the lyrics are chupid. All of them. That's why Lethal B ain't got status like he used to. His Fire Camp track wasn't making it. The tune was weak, and the beat was weak. A good MC could make up for that with good lyrics, and lyrics with substance. But Lethal's bars are...meaningless, and so make the track sound even more dull. The only reason Pow did so well was because of the "Pow!"...and what was he thinking bringing out "Pow 2" or "Piddy Pow" or whatever....by the time he released that...the original was gatherin dust..no one wanted to hear it no more cause it was getting played out too much and everyone was getting sick of it.
