It was the afro hair and beauty show this weekend and i was listening to a radio show that was talking a about how hard it is for black girls to break into mainstream modelling, it's a harsh proffesion and black girl's figures sometimes arnt like the waiflike figures of the white girls on the catwalk

on the other handis itharder for white girls to get into hiphop videos etc? (as evident on the programhip hop candy on mtv base), i also know a white girl who's a heavy singer who can riff like a gospel queen but she's been told she'd be better off singing pop coz she won' b acceptedconfused3

well...it is difficult for black people to get into mainstream fashion modelling, but it's not impossible...these days people are excepting the shape of a black woman's body....further more didn't anyone watch america's next top model and what colour were the two finalists?....BLACK!..Tell me who hosted and produced it?....TYRA BANKS...the first black model with the true black figure! examples here...tyra banks and the two finalists from antm yaya and the winner eva pigford!

you might be thinking this is only in america but there are also a large amount of english black models which make it onto mainstream fashion..most known is naomi campbell..nut there are others! Naomi and other sucessful english black models!

We must realise that not all black women have the stereotypically excessive amount of fat on their buttocks or curviness, which is why many these women will find it easier to take a career inmodelling. Those black women who sucessfully carry out the 'white physique' and the 'white attitude' (Naomi Campell) usually exceed past that of a stereotypical black woman.

Tyra Banks may call herself black but she certainly is depicting the opposite in her pictures. As for Naomi Campell she, personally, is a false inspiration for black women.

Just because they areblack doesn't mean that they are intact. 'Blackness' is also situated in the mind, soul, and spirit of person, that has obviously derived from our African ancestors.

Tyra shows a more black female body than any other known black model and has a great personality as well...we can't really say that for Naomi can we?! her attitude and the way she interacts with people is disgusting and she's a very bad example of black british women! yeah she does win *opps!* neways yeah i lyk hurr 2 but i lyk all ov dem spesh Beenyah i feel shes holdin it down 4 d black ppl dough she is gettin kinda fat n dat i also lyk Kahlen so innocent yeah Naima is bare sweet n she deserves winnin and dat, i did kinda felt wellsowie 4 Christina goin, dere wasnt ne real reson 4 dat part 4m 'she doesnt show nuff emotion'but styl she tries hurr hardest. suprise! suprise! a brotha actually has sumfin to say on this topic!!

i watch americas next top model too (yeh and wot!) and at the end of tha last episodethat ihad watched they previewed wot woz on tha next episode and it showed tyra losing her temper and shouting at one of the constestants. i neva got to see who it woz coz i had to go abroad the next week. who woz tyra shouting atand wot did she do to get her so angry?
