The first time i got a weave (which is gonna be the last time)- my head felt like it was on fire!!! The woman was saying i was tender headed and that it hurts so much cos i weren't used to it- all my mum said was i was being a baby- but i tell you- i don't think i've ever had that much pain before- i had to sleep on my front for over a week -cos the damn thing work sting everytime i rested my head- (i be chattin bout the weave thats actually weaved in- not stuck in). But overall- it looked nice and as they say no pain, no gain- but i most honestly think as nice as it looked- it weren't worth all sleepless nights and a stiff neck in the morning -lol.
Do ya'll choose to go to the same salon to get your her done - or a different one each time?

SO WHAT YOUR SAYING IS THAT IS A GUY DOESNT AGREE WITH FAKE HAIR, IS IMMATURE?
my boyfriend doesnt like weave for his own reasons. and yes he does think beyonce's buff, BUT HE Always says, I'D HAVE TO SEE HER WITH HER REAL HAIR.
so is my boyfriend immature because he doesnt like weave?

Most honestly i'm just one of dem sista's who can't do without a weave. And if i can't get a weave- i just leave my hair out- but i always feel so empty - like somethings missing- most probably cos my head feels alot lighter.

Now that I wear my real hair out, my head feels so good. I am tired of going from braids to the sow in weave and the pony tails. There is nothing wrong with wearing weave, as long as it doesn't look outrageous. I prefer my own. I am trying to grow my hair as long as it can go.

Im a qualified hairdresser and I've worked for some of the most prestigous Black Hair salons in the UK.
I have done many weaves for clients but have not had myself one yet.
I have nice natural jet black wavy hair which alot of black WOMEN !!constanlty ask me "is it texturised???? are you sure!!" not wanting to accept my reply because they dont associate NATURAL wavy hair with dark skin people (totally pisses me off!!). I dont have this prob with most men who seem to be more enlighted andonly compliment me ( or call me coolly whatever that is!)
Weaves are great when USED ONLY for the correct purposes! However to many women are confused about the whole concept of weave!
RULES OF WEAVE - IT IS NOT A HAT!!! - BRUSH IT! WASH IT! GREASE IT! LOVE IT!
- Don't leave it in for more than 2-3 months depending on how fast your hair grows!
- Please DO NOT do the full head of yellow blond hair ASOULTULY NO ONECAN GET AWAY WITH THIS! whatevershade of blacku think u are! it will look cheap& nastywithin days
- GetGOOD MATCH if blending in the front of your own hair!
- Cut the dam ting! andstyle in in a way that suits u!
- ACCEPT that is not yours ! and will never b! (we dont careif u paid for it)
Follow these fundamental rules and your weave will be a delightful experience!

I've had a weave once, and I hated it!! The idea of having a few extra inches in minutes was appealing but once it was on ( it was a sew it) it made me feel fake and my head was all heavy. Anayway, it wasn't for me, I don't think I'll be going down that route anytime soon!:P

i recently had a weave put on' The idea of having a few extra inches in minutes was appealing but once it was on ( it was a sewn in'
Thats exactly how i felt
I so cannot wait to take it off! Im bookin appointment to get rid of it!
I dont know how some do it and keep it looking nice
Its been hot and annoyin (though it did look good the day ihad itdone)
And to wash its a nightmare!
Any way Weave isnt bad if u have the know how!
Like having extensions relaxer all good providing u know what to do and look after n keep good hair maintanance

On average how much do ya'll spend to get a weave or braids (all singles) fixed and where do you get it done? My gals say i be spending too much gettin my hair done - minus the expences down there.

@facetygal
sisterlocks is basically just thin dredlocks - using a particular method which allows you to remove them (without cutting)when necessary however it takes a VERY VERYlong time!!
The size of the individual dredlocks allows them to be somewhat versitile for styling -curled ect.The first time you have them done hair extensionsare used in the locking process, other from that this is a 100% roots & culture way of maintaing your hair.
It can be done on natural & relaxed hair (if you want ot grow it out)
I like the way sisterlocks lookwhen they are maintained WELLhowever that fact that the hair is dredded i PERSONALLY couldnt cope with.
If your like me and you like to change your hairstlyeas often as you change your knickers then this hairstyle is not for you.
I think when black women work with the texture of their hair and use styling products to compliment then it shows a wider range of versitility& its just more fun! After all there is only so many waysyou canstyle locs
let me know if that answered ur ??'s
