Whats wrong with wearing your hair in its natural state? As long as the hair style in question is done with the Black hair in its natural state, its alrighty. If you braid, braid your hair in its natural state.
is it ok for other races to wear weaves but not for black women.
i find many peoples arguments juvenile!
Sorry honey, your argument is senseless cos its based on how other races wear their hair. Why are you so concerned about how other races wear their hair? If other races start applying palm oil on their hair 2moro, would you start doing the same?

How did your natural hair get in such a state? Were you relaxing it? If so then ease up on the relaxers so your hair will not get ruined and you will not have to wear a weave.

I can't stand weaves, why can't black women just wear it natural. I think after a while weaves look terrible when it is kept in too long. I don't wear weaves and never had too because of my different texture of hair and being mixed. I don't want to sound sterotypical but it seems that alot of black women that wear weaves send off this vibe that they are all that, and have alot of jealousytowards women that wear their real hair, not all but most of them. I want to know what's the deal with that?

*There seems to be a lot of refrences on this thread to someone with a long weave and wether or not that is acceptable. What if a black woman with long hair wants to wear a midlength/short weave instead of cutting her hair? Is this wrong? Especiallyfor the summer months?
*If U see this as fine can u then say longweaves r bad? 1/2 a pack is o.k but a full one is out of the question?6"is cool but 12" is for idiots?bs1Or does it come down 2 what looks looks good on U...
*I don't wear weaves (no need or want) but consider Halle Berry. She is stunning with short hair and beautiful with a medium/long weave. Just because she DOES look good with short hair hasn'tstopped her from wearing a weave. Fashion & desire for change plays a part in that i'm sure. U don't hear many men complainin bout her hair.
*If U see this as wrong then maybe U should push for a weave detector so U can weed out the fakes from your list of potential friends and luvs.

I don't have a problem with weaves, I've worn one once before. It's a nice way to switch up your style- if you prefer longer hair like me, you get more style options. Just make sure it looks tight, and don't keep it in too long before it starts getting too dirty. I prefer braids though, i wore them a lot when I was growing out a bad perm. Right now my hair is relaxed, and it's past my shoulders so I won't be on a weave anytime soon.
Also, a lot of celebrities that guys drool over have weave- but they are the first people to diss a chick on road who has weave! Double standards. :?

No, I only wear braids. I don't wear weave. People can't tell its weave unless its really long, outrageous, or cheap. I still find it more attractive if the hair is your real hair.

"If I can weave it, than I can achieve it...
If I can glue it, than I know I can do it..
If believe I can buy!!! I believe in the 5 and dime..
I think about it everynight and day,
Spread my weave and fly away.
I believe I can buy!!!!"

To weave or not to weave that is the question. Is it exceptable if you have plaited in hair down to your back because its not a weave? I don't think so.
I think long weaves look fake and some look really matted, but it is personally choice. The pic that browneyes attached I didn't like that weave, it looked really fake.
What does piss me off are these stupid mix race and somali women, we don't need to do it, we're superior. When are you motherfu*ckers going to learn mix race does not equally beauty and more often than not confusion. If a black woman has a weave it does not make your ass superior because you don't need it!
Peace out.
