Probably because black females are so notorious for wearing weaves that now our people can't eventrust us to sport ourown hair. Yes, I know white women wear fake hair too, but c'mon we really are fast becoming the queens of fake hair. But anyway you can always tell a weave fromreal hair.All you have to do is to lookat the texture of the hair. Weaves normally have an unnatural shine to them. Although these days some companies are coming up with weaves that look exactly like our hair when it's straightened so it's becoming harder to tell. But even then just looking at how the hair sits on a person's head can help you determine whether they are wearing a weave or not.

Now, as we know,there are even afro looking weaves, which can still be spottedas a weave anyway!

Some afro weave wearers have relaxed hair underneath and wear the weave because they see natural hair as being "in fashion" and are too scared to wear their own hair natural.

Too many women are obsessed with having long hair compared to just having healthy hair. A woman will fight tooth and nail to hold onto split, stragglyand damaged hair because it's long!!

To be honest I'm always amazed when I get that type of reaction, but least I grin and reply with a resounding 'yes it is' or just plain sarcasm

i think if you have a weave and someone is asking if its your real hair, and they genuinely seem unsure...it can only be because it looks so authentic. there are times when its hard to tell if someone has some additions or if its all their own hair and its usually whenthe weave hasbeendone very well.

when even from a distance it is clear that a load of plastic has been sewn or glued onto your head, no one would ever need to ask if it was real or not.

i have had people ask me many timesif my real hair is a weave and have never felt insulted, because i think it must mean my real hair looked too good to be true.

Hell yeah, that's true. Just today I was talking to another black woman and she asked me if I was "mixed" or had Indian because of my supposed "good hair." Please, black women can grow their hair long if they would stop putting all of these dangerous chemicals in their hair and just leave it be!

I for one just can't see any purpose in wearing weave (non African) hair in your head - the whole concept completely bewilders me...why would anyone want to....and the weaves chosen defines what the weares deem as the standard of what hair should look like.

Too right a man after some pum pum might see pass the weave in the same way he might see pass the smoking but no man wants to know his woman wears fake hair...especially asian hair...maybe in America.

OK....Before the thought of having weave in my hair was terrifyin', but for my birthday last year i thought i should just experiment with a new look..so i done weave..it was short and very itchy but people were telling me i looked really good in it..i had a lot of attention outside..lol..it didnt stay long on my head because i could not hack it.

A year on i've tried for the 3rd time (during the summer)..i would say i have got used to the feeling of having weave on my head....but whenever there is a tiny sign of raggedness it comes of straight..i think that's the only thing i hate about weave.

1 thing i must say is that weave can grow ur hair well..i have a beautiful afro.
