Hello everyone,

The thing about it is, that i always read these forum discussions, catch my joke and go about my business but today i just had to comment. Black men are too too too obsessed with the booty. Its nice to appreciate a nice assetbut nowadays i fear things have gone far beyond dat. speaking from personal experience, i just do not for the life of me understand the obsession and i guess i never will. It has actually bothered me to the extent that I have asked several of my male friends to try and break it down for me and truthfully they haven't really told me anything I didn't already know. the simple truth is that it is a primitive thing and they just can't help themselves. A big juicy bum is a signal of a female's fertility and her child bearing capabilities so in actual fact makes the male think of mating. but still we aint frigging animals. I feel this "obsession" is quite a recent ting. don't get me wrong a nice bum has always been given its due props but now it seems to overshadow everything else (i blame J-lo for this. lol). I'm quite frankly exasperated by it. For me when men now say to me "ur bum is heavy" and all that nonsense, i actually find it a turn off. I know this may seem a bit far fetched but, I think a big butt gets in the way of starting a relationship nowadays because you look at a guy and think i wana get to know him better and he looks at you and thinks sex. My sister i feel your pain, guys fix up man. Bums are not the be all and end all. I actually think its quite a standard thing for black girls to have so get over it!
